Still, for $5,000 we acquired little value."

Of course, that can be a lot of fencing for larger trees, which is why our first step is about making difficult decisions on which trees to save.

It all depends on the scope of the project. A trencher can certainly save time and energy, but you might not need to dig that deep in the first place. Aside from the depth of the trench, the quality of the soil matters. If it’s light, soft soil, you might try a shovel first.
