Description of Work: Ryan Electric is my preferred electrician. I haven't needed electric services recently, but I have used Pat Ryan to bury my electrical from post to house serpveral years ago and for several other jobs. I will be using him in the near future to upgrade my electric panel. Since Angie's list asked me to rate them, so date of service is not accurate.

I personally was the electrician that visited with you at your rental property. After quickly viewing your issues, it was clear I needed my diagnostic meter to help troubleshoot your problem. Unfortunately, when I looked for my meter, it was missing. No professional likes to find out they are missing a vital tool but my greatest concern was that I needed to tell you right away that I did not have the tool that was going to help most in resolving your problem. I also told you I would be spending your money unwisely if I tried to continue without the meter. I apologized several times and offered to return on the following day (Saturday) to resolve the problem. (I purchased a new meter that evening) I apologized because I truly understand your time is as valuable if not more so than ours. I couldn't correct our error while there but wanted very much to make it right for you as best I could. You were upset with me and I said I understood why you were upset. I am sorry you were unable to give us the opportunity to correct our error. Had you did, I am completely confident we would have earned your valued trust.. Description of Work: Pat remounted the sevice meter box to the back of the house after sinking dirt around the foundation caused downward strain on the conduit. Pat was there on time, had the supplies needed and finished much quicker than expected. He did a very good job of solidly mounting the box and caulking around it to prevent rain or pest intrusion.

Description of Work: We had three new electrical lines ran (two in the house and the third into the garage to serve as a dedicated line for the refrigerator in the garage), four new ceiling fans installed and a dining room light fixture replaced. The owner and his assistant were prompt and got right to work. They also accommodated our last minute request to install six dimmer switches. I would not hesitate to use Ryan electric again and have recommended to people at work.

Description of Work: Replaced fuse in breaker box. | |Pat was great! He was very willing to work with my schedule and came after hours. He was in and out without any fuss but explained everything to me along the way. I contacted him again for additional work (on my smoke alarms) and although I didn't use him for the work, he was very responsive and helpful about what needed to be done.

No service peformed.
Description of Work: Setup appointment at 10:30. Nobody showed up and we finally got a call 45 minutes later with a message left saying he didn't know what our needs were and that they were running behind. Call me at 10:30 if you are running behind, not 45 minutes later. I stayed home from work for them to no show. I moved on to a different company.

I am sorry we were running late for our appointment. I agree, you deserved a phone call prior to our appointment. I asked my partner who was with me on the job we were working on together prior to our meeting with you to call our next appointment to let them know we were running behind. We use I-pads and calendars for our company to keep everyone updated on the schedule. Unfortunately, his I-pad did not show your appointment and he instead called the client we had scheduled after you. When I finally became aware of the mistake, I called around 11:00am and received your answering machine. My confusion on what you needed had more to do with not being able to speak with you in person. We take great pride on being on time and always try to call our clients if we know we are running late. We understand your time is as valuable as ours, if not more so. You have rated us fairly in this instance because of our mistake.
