Our smoke detector decided to start chirping throughout Sunday evening and night, making for a very long, sleepless night. I contacted Pat explaining the problem (plus the need for a new plug in the ceiling of the garage). He agreed to come late in the day after 5:00. I told him I was flexible and if something opened up during the day to call. It did and he met me at my house 10 minutes after the call. He had an assistant with him and they both went right to work, fixing all the problems (including installing a smoke detector in the basement - something we never had) in 35 minutes. They were prompt, courteous, quick, and reasonably priced. I can't say enough good things about him and highly recommend Ryan Electric.

The experience I had with Ryan Electric was just exactly what I would want as a customer. With the first phone call, I described what I needed, and I was given the estimate for two situations, so I knew going into the project, what to expect for the cost. Upon arriving for the job, I was again given the same estimates for the two situations that might occur (depending on existing wiring, etc.). I was pleasantly surprised that there was a crew of three to tackle the project, and they wasted no time setting up and getting to it. We had just moved into the house, and thought a switch on the bedroom wall was not connected to anything, so asked to have the fan control mounted there. They quickly determined that the switch was actually connected to an outside light on the deck, and that it was a three-way with two other wall switches in other parts of the house. We also thought these were "dummies" since nothing ever happened when we used them. (make up your own joke about who the dummies were - :) The crew spent a significant amount of time tracking this all down for me, and helping me to understand that the motion sensor light outside would need all three switches to be on, in order for it to function properly. This detective work, which took some time, was done without added cost to me, and was much appreciated. Once it was determined that the switch we intended to use, was already in use, I was shown an option to mount the control at another location in the bedroom, and then they proceeded to install the ceiling fan, light, and set up the remote. When the project was finished, and I was shown the end result, I was pleasantly surprised. Not only was the fan installed exactly how I wanted it, but I was shown where everything was and had an opportunity to ask questions. Also, the room was cleaned up so well, you would never have known three men had just installed a ceiling fan there! The box the fan came in was taken to the garage for me before they left. From beginning to end, everything was professional, and the result was fabulous! I will call on them again, when I need electrical work done.

This was no easy task. Pat did an excellent job. His price was very reasonable. He and his co-worker spent quite a bit of time on it. It was a difficult job, which he did exceptional on and was very polite and great to work with.

I thought he was really good and he communicated well. He solved the problem and gave me some good advice. It was the first time that I have used him, but it won't be the last. I will continue to use him in the future for my electrical needs.

We had set up an appt. for May 3, 2012. Pat and Travis showed up about 10 minutes early...which was great. I didn't know if they would want to do everything today,but they did. They did a great job. The only glitch was caused by me. I should have had two replacement ceiling fans and I only had one. My shopping trip to Home Depot was futile looking for a 52 inch, flush-mount fan. So I had to order one on line. I told Pat I would call him for that replacement when it was delivered to me. His work is professional and pretty quick. I won't hesitate to call Ryan's Electric for future work.

Estimating process was flawless. Pat Ryan is a professional and is a person of integrity and values. Ryan Electric is OUR electric Company! Highly recommend!

When Pat came out to assess the electrical issue he was very thorough and took the time to make sure that he knew exactly what was going on. In order to repair the problem he had to come back at a different time with someone else--it was a two man project. Before he left, though, he made sure that everything was safe. And since he was already coming out we decided that we should go ahead and have him add the can lights to our living room. When he came back he was extremely professional, the quality of his work was exceptional and he was very reliable. Plus, he completed the work in a timely fashion. Overall, we had a very positive experience and would recommend him to anyone. We have several more lighting projects in the future and we will definitely be using him!

Pat changed out recessed "can" lights with ceiling fans. He did 4 fans total. This guys is a hard worker and paid attention to detail. He went above and beyond to ensure the lights were not just installed, but installed correctly. The first fan that was installed had a very slight wobble - not even enough to concern me. He completely dissembled the fan to tightened up where it attached to the ceiling to fix the wobble. Everything else went smoothly.

When I described my problem, Mr. Ryan was able to fit me into his schedule and had all of the problems corrected within two hours of the time I called. After looking into the problem, Mr. Ryan gave me a thorough explanation of what neded to be done, with an estimate, beforehand. I was surprised that the actual repairs took only 20-30 minutes. I couldn't be more pleased.

Super. After being rained out one day, we rescheduled, they arrived on time and were just finishing up when I got home. The inspector was impressed with their work.

Pat was the most responsive of those I had contacted to get an estimate. He listened attentively and provided options. His price was very competitive. His professionalism was unmatched, not only compared to other electricians but to most of the other contractors I have worked with in starting this large project. Throughout his work for portion, Pat took the time to explain what he was doing and offered great advice on other aspects of my project. I would ABSOLUTELY contact Pat again for any additional electrical work that I have in the future.

Pat showed up to give us an estimate on whether it could even be done. Running a circuit that far in a finished home can certainly create some problems. We found a path that we thought we could use so he agreed to do it for us. He also offered to let me help to save some money and to help him in general get the job done. We started and began tracing the path to ensure that we could really get from point a to point b. I wanted to keep the circuit from running along the exterior of any wall. That proved to be a little too much to accomplish. But we were able to keep it to a minimum and in the garage near the ceiling so it isn't as noticeable. We worked for the better part of 5.5 hours to get the wire run. There were many obstacles that we managed to get around and I was amazed at how "in to his work" he gets. He's not afraid to get dirty, not afraid to get into places where many people wouldn't go. If he needs to do it to get the job done, he does it. With that said though, he didn't sacrifice quality for speed. I never felt like we were making compromises to accomplish the task or for speed. We got it done, done right, and within his specified time-frame. We didn't even have to cut any sheetrock that would need repaired later. I enjoyed working with Pat. It is nice to see someone that does their job the way it should be done; like he cares about the outcome. I highly recommend Ryan Electric.

Pat was great to work with. Not only was he prompt and on time, but I really appreciated him asking me questions to make sure we were on the same page while he was working. Pat arrived early for the estimate, calling before arriving to make sure his early arrival would be OK. He gave an estimate that was half of one of our previous estimates. After he gave the estimate but before he came to do the work, my wife and I decided we wanted to add a light at the bottom of the stairs and he said he could do that no problem, at no additional cost. Pat was also willing to work on a Saturday which really helped us out as we wouldn't have to take time away from work to accommodate. He arrived exactly when expected and got right to work. When he needed clarity on something, he asked me the question instead of assuming. We used Pat because of his ratings on Angie's List and we weren't disappointed. We would certainly use him again.

Pat is a wonderful man. I found him to be extremely honest and sincere, with an eye toward delivering a quality experience for the owner. I actually had him come out as a second quote and learned he will, depending on scope of project, help out with the person that I had an initial quote with. Because of my comfort with Pat, I didn't ask them to compete against each other on the bid, and simply hired them to do the job. The work that was done was very professional. They are clean and courteous. One comment I overheard Pat make confimed my decision. I am paraphrasing, but the takeaway was "It's more work, but it's the way it should be done." Pat was even kind enough to render some advice to me on a question I posed to him through a text message over the weekend. I'd recommend him to anyone needing electrical work.

Both projects went very well. In both instances, Ryan responded to my inquiries very promptly. When designing the quote, he also asked excellent questions. "What size pot lights? What color on the light modlings? Where will the office desk sit?" I could tell he wanted the jobs to go well and for me to be happy with the results. The price of the quotes were fair given the amount of work to be done. On the scheduled date of the work, Ryan was on-time. He brought enough co-workers and materials to ensure he could finish the job. Once work began, the crew worked very hard taking only a lunch break, and worked right up to completion of the job. No playing music, no smoke breaks, no talking on the phone for large amounts of time. In essence, he was 100% dedicated to my project the entire time he was on-site. I love that. Quality of work was very good. I've had the office lights and fan for about 3-4 weeks now, and I've tested the dimmers and fan speed switch multiple times with no issues. The kitchen lights have been in for about a week now and have been tested multiple times as well. The light switches that were installed are nice and flush with the wall and level. Ryan and his crew did a good job of cleaning-up afterwards. All-in-all, I was very pleased with the work that was done. I would highly recommend Ryan Electric and I would definitely use them again.

We did a project walk-through to start. The bid was detailed and he was forthcoming about the KCPL charges that were not part of his bid. All permits, inspections, and trench work was included. The work was completed on time and the new breaker box looks great.

Pat needed to order parts for the fan so he had to came back and he fixed it and my kitchen lights without any issues. A job well done.

Ryan Electric was very responsive all the way through the process. They were on time and kept working even through tough conditions (pouring rain). Very pleased with quality of work. Only negatives were the lack of clean-up and that the head person left before the job was finished and let an assistant finish up. Those are minor points, however, and I would use Ryan Electric again.
