"Daniel and his crew were professional and efficient. I was able to set up an appointment to get a quote right away and he offered different days that he would be available so that I was able to choose what worked best around my schedule. He thoroughly discussed the options for removing two trees and trimming the others in my yard so that they couldn’t damage my house and vehicles. One particular tree I had special requests for it because it’s the kid’s sitting tree and I was very happy that he was able to trim it neatly and left the low branches per my request. On the day of the project, they arrived in the morning and everything was completed that afternoon, leaving my yard tidy, exactly how I envisioned it. I will call him if I have any future tree projects."

"We contacted Doerr Enterprises this last fall to trim our tree in our front yard that was looking a little sad. He was very prompt to get to the job, get it done and cleaned up! We have also hired him for the first snow we got so far this year and he cleaned our drive in no time! Would highly recommend his services!"

"Excellent service! The contractor did a fantastic job hauling away tree debris from my property. He was professional, hardworking, and completed the job quickly and efficiently. The area was left clean, and the price was fair. I highly recommend his services and would definitely hire him again."

Landscaping questions, answered by experts

As much as you might try to keep a healthy, nutrient-rich lawn, you still may notice signs of St. Augustine decline (SAD)—a viral disease that discolors your grass blades. St. Augustine decline looks like:

  • Discoloration in the leaves (chlorosis)—leaves appear yellow and splotchy

  • Decline in growth

  • Leaves turn black within 3 years

  • Grass appears less vibrant

  • Grass begins to thin

  • Root rot

  • Grass takes longer to recover

It depends. Smaller, younger trees take longer to mature, but they're more resilient, their roots don't get as damaged during transplanting, and they recover faster. Plus, they're much more affordable to plant, and it's possible to DIY the planting.

On the other hand, mature trees produce fruit faster and provide more shade and privacy immediately. Ideally, a small or medium tree is the better choice if you can wait a few years for it to mature. But if you need immediate maturity, a larger tree is the only option.

The truth is, there really is no such thing as a 100% deer-proof plant. Deer will decimate even the prickliest flora if they’re hungry enough. However, there are plenty of beautiful plants that deer don’t necessarily enjoy. These include thistles, wisteria vines, sword ferns, and beautyberries.

Deer are herbivores, and they love vegetable gardens as much as Peter Rabbit. If you don’t want to fence in your entire property, consider creating an attractive raised-bed veggie garden with mesh fencing around it to keep out deer and other critters.

You should exercise care when deciding how to landscape over a leach field for your septic system. You typically want lightweight materials that won’t damage the drain field’s perforated pipes. When adding plants to the area, select plants with shallow roots, such as grass or flower gardens. Trees with deep roots could damage the pipes in the field.

Yes, such as sod installation and erosion control for comprehensive site improvement.
