I contacted Ashpaugh based on recommendations from Angie's List, and a representative came out within a few days to look at the work we wanted done. Shortly thereafter he sent me a quote, which I accepted, and work began within 2 wks. We had to change the original plan of recessed lighting somewhat due the direction and location of ceiling joists, upstairs plumbing, etc., but the electrician worked diligently to do as much as we wanted without putting too many holes in the ceiling.

He was really good. I talked to the owner and he came out on a Saturday. They were really fast to come back out after I had bought the fixture. They were reasonable. They were very trustworthy. I felt like they knew what they were doing.

Everything went quite well. I had some very complex problems. This house has been wired by a number of individuals. So these guys came out with no idea what they getting into. A whole set of outside lights were wired badly and the wires were bumping into each other. They took care of the problem.

Ashpaugh was top notch from the first call through the completion of both visits. Pat replaced the breaker on our double oven very quickly and explained to us that it was probably mistakenly connected to the wrong breaker when the panel was originally installed since it definitely needed a 40 amp breaker to run both ovens and was connected to a 20 amp breaker. The panel was also mislabeled. He then investigated our outside lamp post and, after about 30 minutes of trying to figure out what was wrong, he figured out that the bulb and fixture was just sitting in the post with no connection to the house (we couldn't believe the original owners spent 5 years in the house without a working lamp post.) He said that he could bury the outside wire for us, but recommended we do it ourselves since having him bury it would be senseless at his hourly rate. He gave me all the information about what type of wire I needed and how deep to bury it and said that we could then call him back to have him connect it to the house. This is exactly what we did and he connected it without a problem. One other note was Ashpaugh's scheduler. After I called to schedule the second appointment, she called back because she thought she had mixed up our work order and wanted to confirm. She apologized profusely, but I appreciated the diligence in making sure everything was correct. This is a great firm and we will use for our future electrical needs.

The project went perfect. He knew exactly what he was doing. I was impressed with his work. The work was more then satisfactory. He was very knowledgeable. The cost was very reasonable.

Called to request an estimate, specialist came out following day and inspected many outlets and wires. During inspection he found a damaged wire and tripped the breaker to eliminate risk of fire. We scheduled the work when it was convenient for us. Worker was on time, polite and completed work in a timely manner. He also respected our house and limited the number of holes he cut in the drywall.

The phone representative was very helpful and efficient in getting our service scheduled. The electrician was on time, very respectful in working in our home (covered shoes), efficient, and did a great job.

I have used this company for the past fifteen years. They are competively priced. I fond them responsive and pleasant. They have several good electricians and offer an array of residential services.

They had to rebuild the light fixture so it would match all of the other light fixtures. They did a great job!

This company was called after another electrician failed to call back or show up to complete the work. Ashpaugh was able to schedule the job in 2 days and showed up on time. The nice young man who came agreed to wait while I went out to purchase the proper fixtures after being misinformed by the "no show" electrician. The installation was smooth and we love the final product. When I called the company to give them my credit card number I mentioned what a nice young man the worker was. They told me that he will get a bonus because I gave an unsolicited compliment. That makes for a great company!!

I was very pleased with their efficiency and competence. The technician did not even have to turn off the electricity to do the repair. The outlet is the one I use to run a pond pump 24 hours a day in the summer. Since rain seemed to short out the outlet, he put a waterproof cover on the outlet. It took him less than 15 minutes. Price included $20 Angie's List discount and $4.00 fuel charge.

We called five companies from Angie's List to update several electrical problems. Our home is over 80 years old and we needed to make sure it could handle the electrical demands of technology today. We liked each of the companies we called, but we're very pleased that we ultimately chose Ashpaugh to do the work. Steve Bryson was the first representative from Ashpaugh that visited our home. The estimate he provided was BY FAR the most complete and detailed quotation we received. As we walked through our home, Steve made notes and snapped digital pictures of the areas we wanted to address. He followed up with a quote that was right in the middle (dollar wise) of the five we had received. Luckily, price is not the only criteria we use when it comes to hiring people to work on our home. Because the Ashpaugh quote was so specific about the work to be done, we felt that there could be absolutely no disputing what we were paying for. That gave us the peace of mind to pay a little more. Comparing the five estimates, we could see where controversy could arise in the future because the scope of the work was not clearly spelled out on the quotation. Often the person doing the estimate is not the same person doing the work, so there is room for misinterpretation when the job is completed. Due to our comfort level with Steve Bryson and his written estimate, we hired Ashpaugh to make the needed updates to our electrical service. When Gary the electrician showed up, he immediately toured the house to plan his work day before starting. He then began doing all that could by himself the first day. Gary was a friendly guy that didn't mind answering questions and his work was excellent throughout. On day two and day three, Gary was joined by Larry or Chris to complete the work that required two people. Each employee that came to our home from Ashpaugh was very friendly, respected our home and cleaned up any mess created. We are extremely pleased with the work they did and have already got more work planned. This organization was top shelf every step of the way! Bill, the electrician, showed up on time and quickly figured out how to install junction box, by running wiring up from basement. Bill took down old range hood and installed box in one hour and left the area very clean. I was very pleased with the experience and would definitely use them again. Price was high, but maybe that is what all electricians charge.

I spoke to Dave Ashpaugh via phone about an electrical problem I was having. He said I might try fixing it myself and told me exactly how. He said it would cost me too much to have him come out to do the work for such a relatively simple repair.

I contacted Ashpaugh and indicated that I needed to have two can lights replaced (they would supply) and one fan/light (I would supply). They arrived on time (in fact, early). Service technician checked the can fixtures and informed me that all they needed was a slight adjustment. That saved me some dollars. He could have just as easily replaced them and I would not have been the wiser. He also installed a ceiling fan/light fixture in the toilet area. He informed me that the size was slightly off and that he would gladly provide me with the size of the unit I needed, or install the one I had. He indicated that there would be a noticeable gap with the unit I had purchased. I decided that I could easily apply a piece of drywall and fix the gap myself, so I instructed him to go ahead with the install. When he was finished, the gap was hardly noticeable and will require very little effort on my part. I have used Ashpaugh in the past and would not think of using any other company for my electrical needs.
