Everything was fine, it was just a little more expensive than I expected. He definitely was not a speedy worker. He did a good job, and he was able to repair the light over the table, which I was worried about. We really like it and were afraid we'd have to get a new fixture. When asked above if we'd use them again, I would really prefer to have answered "maybe." I probably would try to find someone less expensive for routine electrical work (like the ceiling fan installation). But if it was something more unusual, I'd definitely call them.
Description of Work: He installed a ceiling fan and repaired a light fixture over our dining room table.

Ashpaugh was able to fit us in quickly. The gentlemen was punctual and professional. He replaced the breaker. He pointed out that most of the electrical settings were okay and it was probably an issue with the hot tub itself. Which is an unfortunate, because I tried to get the hot tub people out before I paid an electrician. The electrician was very nice though and explained everything, but the issue ended up being the hot tub and I wasted my money.
Description of Work: They were hired to check for problems associated with the breaker for my hot tub. After calling the hot tub company multiple times, I gave up and called an electrician for help. We could trip the breaker and get the hot tub running, but it would just stop again.

They were very thorough and professional. They cleaned up well and made sure we were satisfied when they left. They had to order a part, but came back when it was in to finish the work. We will use Ashpaugh electric again when needed.

Very pleased with it all. Electrician showed up on time, used foot coverings, carefully worked the cable thru the walls and tacked it up where necessary, cleaned up the work area, etc--and all for less than the cable contractor said it would cost. He was polite and pleasant the whole time and I know it wasn't a "fun" job. We used Ashpaugh several years ago for a small electrical job and won't hesitate to use for any of our future electrical needs.
Description of Work: According to the local TV cable company, our inside cable wiring needed replaced/upgraded to handle a digital cable signal. (That's a whole 'nother story). The cable company quoted us one price and when their contractor showed up one week later, 4 hours late, he tripled the price and said he didn't want the job anyway. It required running a line to two existing outlets and following the old cable runs, but it did involve a wall fish, being in two attics, and tacking up cable outside the house and on a ceiling in the basement. Called Ashpaugh to see if they could run the cable. They responded in a prompt, polite, professional manner and provided a rough quote over the phone (which they honored when they did the work).

He located a problem that I was having with my GFI resetting the breaker. He corrected the problem and gave me tips on what to do if this happens in the future. The rep showed up on time as promised and even called beforehand to let me know that he was on the way. The price was fair. I would absolutely use them again in the future!

The process went fairly well, but I felt the service person worked slowly, and was very chatty, using up more time than necessary.
Description of Work: We had a ceiling fan that wasn't working. Found there was supposed to be a remote control for the fan. He rewired it so that we did not need remote.

WE DID EXPLAIN THE REASON THE PADDLE FAN WAS NOT WORKING. WE DISASSEMBLED THE PADDLE FAN UNIT TO REMOVE THE REMOTE CONTROL DEVICE. THE MEMBER WAS ONLY CHARGED FOR 1/2 HR AND THE ANGIE'S LIST DISCOUNT, WHICH IS GIVEN TO ALL MEMBERS WAS APPLIED TO HER INVOICE.

Originally they only sent one man without a tall enough ladder. That was partly my fault in that I only mentioned to them the height of the ceiling on the day of the appointment but there was miscommunication on their part in that the person who took my call didn't tell the electrician the correct height. They quickly rescheduled and sent two men with a little giant for the job. They were efficient, pleasant and on time. In fact they called me at work to meet them when they were on the way so I did not have to waste time waiting. I have used them before and will continue to do so.

We had an appointment scheduled. They had to cancel because there were so many people that had electrical problems because of the storm. Then we had to cancel on them the next time. The third time we set it up, it worked out good.
Description of Work: We had an electrical circuit that was dead so they fixed that. Then they went around the house and checked for other electrical problems.

They were very nice. They were here on time and did it in timely manner. When he had to come inside, he wore covers over his boots so my house wouldn't get dirty. He didn't leave a trace of garbage when he left.
