The person I spoke to at the office gave me a particular time frame, but he arrived way out of that time frame. I am not sure if the problem was with the office or the technician.

+ -1 moreI called Asplaugh in a panic when an electrical circuit went out and I smelled something burning. The receptionist/scheduler calmed me down and set up an appointment. She also put me on the wait list in case someone had time that day. Soon she called and said she was sending someone now. Wes arrived and tracked down the problem. He was careful and throrough and weeks later everything is fine. I really appreciated the effort by the receptionist/scheduler to help me and also Wes's skill. Thanks again.

+ -1 moreThe technician arrived as scheduled and began work. He did all the preliminary work and then made the necessary calls to IPL to get the power to the house turned off . Even though the project took most of the day he worked very efficiently and was courteous and did what he could to get the power back on as quickly as possible so that the house wouldn't get too cold. He came back the next morning and made sure that everything was properly cleaned up did a great job of marking the box very legibly. I was very happy and satisfied with the service.
Description of Work: We had some concerns about our electrical box so I called Ashpaugh and Brian Ashpaugh came out and found that there were some dangerous wiring problems that needed to be addressed as soon as possible. He also checked out the furnace and found that when it was installed the wiring was not done correctly and that also needed to be addressed. When he worked up the quote and sent it I was expecting it to be much higher than the $1500 so I was thrilled. Also decided to purchase their electrical maintenance agreement.

Description of Work: Technician came, reviewed the inspector's report. Checked all the items in question, gave recommendations, all the items well priced and he was so knowledgeable and polite...I was really impressed. I will totally use their service again. He was particularly diligent in trouble-shooting a problem that wasn't easy to solve, eventually finding some wiring that had been done improperly at the time our house was constructed.
Description of Work: Installed a new outside electrical outlet, made several repairs and removed some outside landscaping lights that we no onger need.

+ -1 moreThese people are the best-- and I have seen the worst to compare them to. I have used the services of 11contractors in preparing a home to move into. The Ashpaugh staff was by far the most competent & responsive. I reccommend them with no reservation or words of caution. Their bids were always competitive, but even if they weren't-- consider the aggravation factor that you WON'T have by using them.

Description of Work: They changed the back of the plug on our new stove because it was not laying properly. He also took down and put up a new vanity mirror. He gave me an estimate on lighting in our bedroom. He looked inside and out to see if that was something they could do given my ceiling space.

+ 0 moreCouldn't have asked for a better experience. Brian(the owner) came out to give us the estimate. He is knowledgeable, concientious and considerate. He followed up personally on every aspect of the job- from the estimate, to the ordering of materials to the completion of the job. His electrician did an excellent job from start to finish. We are very pleased with the end result. The company he used to subcontract the drywall repair, also did an excellent job ( L&W Painting, Inc). We ended up using them to paint the ceiling in our downstairs after the patch work. We will definitely use Ashpaugh in the future. This is how you want a contracted work experience to go.

+ 0 moreAshpaugh and the service person were fantastic. The little jobs were quick, and very affordable. Much of the remainer of the work was shown to be unnecessary under our current electrical needs. The other motion lighting and work was also demonstrated as unnecessary by approaching it differently with our existing lighting and wiring using different switch. The recommendations were work we could simply do ourselves and probably saved us many 100's of dollars. They seemed to care about us our electical work, and not about selling something we didn't need. Very polite, very professional and very ethical approach to our situation. They will get our electircal work in the future and could teach others about service.
Description of Work: We had several small jobs that needed electrical help and a few jobs we thought were potentially larger in scope but really not sure. A few outlets and switches, and what we thought was going to be a completely new circuit, and lighting in a garage were the extent of the work.

+ -1 moreI was extremely pleased with Ashpaugh Electric. When I called to set up an appointment, they were willing to put me on their schedule for the very next day. I had a conflict, so they were very accomodating in working with a date & time that was convenient for me. On the scheduled date, the electrician arrived promptly. He was very efficient and courteous. He assembled both lighting fixtures, making sure that I had the opportunity to see them hanging at different lengths before he actually installed them. That gave me the opportunity to decide how I wanted the lights positioned (in terms of height). Once finished, he removed all the packing materials and debris to dispose of them. Overall, it was just a positive experience! Ashpaugh was able to get me on the schedule quickly, the electrician was personable, efficient, and very knowledgeable, and the outcome was excellent. I'd highly recommend their services.
Description of Work: I wanted to replace two existing lighting fixtures in my home -- an entry hallway light and a dining room chandelier. I had purchased the new fixtures but needed to have them assembled and installed. An Ashpaugh Electric electrician did the assembly and installation work.

They have a master electrician named Shane and he is real good. I have been very happy with them, the work they did and their professionalism. I have used them for a bigger job in the past and I trust them and will call them anytime I need electrical work. From start to finish I was happy.

Service person started checking and within a hour found the problem and corrected it. Service person was very helpful in explaining what he was doing, what he found and how that could cause the problem.

Description of Work: I asked them to look at a light in the kitchen which wasn't working and two outlets in the bathrooms. He determined that the electrical system was fine in the kitchen; the light was bad & then he replaced one outlet in one bathroom & reset the other one.

+ -1 moreMy husband and I both had several conversations with Shane, and I had a few "administrative" questions with Ashpaugh directly. I found this company to be extremely professional, responsive, and punctual. My Mom said that when Shane was at her house, he was friendly, professional, and careful not to track dirt in on her floors, etc. All three of us couldn't be happier with this company. We will definitely use them again and will recommend them to anyone we know requiring electrical services.
Description of Work: I hired Ashpaugh to do a thorough inspection of my Mom's house, as it is quite old -- and an entire portion of her house kept losing electricity. "Shane" was the electrician who was sent to my Mom's. This particular problem happened to be a problem on the outside of her house, and the electric company was responsible to fix it. He called them, and they came while he was even still there, and that problem was resolved. Because I had asked him to perform a complete inspection of the house -- due to the age -- he did so and found several things that needed to be upgraded/changed. He gave us a quote -- and also advised that her house needed to be upgraded to a higher amp service at some point. He came back the next day to complete the work from the first quote. While doing that, he discovered a glitch that would REQUIRE the house to be upgraded in order for him to complete all of that. We requested a quote for the upgrade and received it. She had the service upgrade completed the following week.
