+ -1 moreOne year ago I requested a service call to troubleshoot problems with exterior lights. Someone came promptly and explained the problem. I indicated I wanted to go ahead with the work and was told someone would call to schedule. After three weeks all I had received was a bill for the service call. I called the office and explained the situation. The office assistant had someone call me. They apologized for the confusion and said they would order the parts and then schedule the work. That was over a year ago. While looking for a new electrical company I continued to get recommendations to use Ashpaugh. A year later I sent an email to the company owner detailing my experience and stating that I was willing to give them another chance. After three weeks I have not received a response. I will find another company.

+ -1 moreWe had three estimates done and Ashpaugh was the most reasonable. A large store and another small(er) electric contractor said it would cost $250 to $300 to install just two light fixtures. Those companies charged per item. Ashpaugh charged by the quarter hour and ended up being about half the cost of the other estimates. Had we gone with the other companies, we would have paid more for the work than we paid for the fixtures. We were pleased with their work and would hire them again.
Description of Work: Ashpaugh installed three light fixtures including two from a vaulted ceiling. One chandelier chain and cord needed to be swapped out to make it longer.

+ 1 moreVery professional, pleased with the performance of technicians. I would hire again. Slightly disappointed about getting estimates in advance on all jobs. Price came out fair, but they were unable to give me even a ballpark on the outdoor light (just time plus material, no guesses at time). It may be the nature of the particular project, but a ballpark would have been helpful. $70 trip charge was a little high. Overall, they seem trustworthy and likely worth the moderately high price.
Description of Work: 2 different jobs. Installation of 1 ceiling fan, change of extension rod on another ceiling fan, change of existing ceiling fixture. Second job was creating a new outlet and blanking out an old outlet. Also, sought estimate on adding an outdoor light.

+ -1 moreI can't say enough good things about this job. From the guys who did the work to the woman who took my payment over the phone, everyone was friendly and the work was professionally done. The work even came in less than the estimate as they were able to complete it without any drywall work needing to be done. I don't know how they did it; they must be miracle workers! Also, their final price was roughly half of what I had quoted from other electricians/ contractors. If I ever have electrical work that I need done, there's no question that I will be coming back to Ashpaugh.

+ -1 moreSee above. They arrived fairly early, worked methodically and cleanly and were very polite...and they worked straight through the day without any breaks.
Description of Work: The electricians arrived at 9:30 AM and stayed until 4:30 PM. The task was to determine why our exterior pole lights next to our driveway were not getting any electrical power, and to fix the problem if possible. The fellows used a couple of different types of sensing instruments to determine where the buried electrical line was and also to determine where breaks were in the line. Rodents(chipmunks) had apparently gnawed through the wires in two places underground and in one place in the house above the basement ceiling. The electricians dug holes (very cleanly) to repair the exterior breaks had to cut into the basement ceiling (fortunately in a closet) to repair the interior break. This required the installation of a couple of small connector boxes which needed to be left accessible. One box has a typical box plate on it but the other is open. I indicated I would repair the drywall and install a small plate for future access. After the repairs, the exterior lights worked.

Replacing the main circuit breaker could have been a breeze, but the crew pinpointed the problem, which 2 other firms had failed to do. They were able to complete the job in less time then anticipated. The second job was more minor, but was met with equal courtesy and efficiency.

+ -1 moreExcellent! It was a challenge to bring this cable line into the kitchen (don't you just love builders!), but it took much less time than I had anticipated. They even hooked up the TV to demonstrate that the cable worked! They explained that they would have had to drill through 4 walls to get a ''home run'' as they called it (a line directly from the basement where the cable comes into the house), so they suggested an alternative method which worked. They identified the problem for the outside lighting, but the ground was still frozen. The two even suggested that if I wanted to save a lot of money - I (or my husband) should dig the ditches in which they are going to lay the conduit on their next visit. And, it wasn't because they didn't want to either. Can you believe that?!?
Description of Work: The two service gentlemen (and I mean gentlemen!) installed a new cable line in my kitchen. They also investigated why the outside lights were tripping the circuit breaker.

+ -1 moreThey could not find the problem, so they replaced all of the smoke detectors. It turned out that it was my carbon monoxide detector which was going off. I was not dissatisfied at all because the new smoke detectors are much easier to replace batteries and of higher quality.
