"Mr. Rolan was/is very professional and up front (honest) with details of the costs and labor required for the job needing done. Providing 24hr service saved us from having to replace busted water lines. He was quick at arriving and within minutes he had our water working. He has done a few projects for us now. Including fabricating a custom made handicap rail. The size we needed was not manufactured so he took it upon himself to make one that does fit. His versatility of skills, professional character, more than reasonable rates and quality of the work done has given him a repair client!!"

Skylights questions, answered by experts

The decision to remove a skylight depends on your specific circumstances and preferences. There are several reasons why you might consider removing a skylight, such as extensive damage, a desire for better insulation, or the need to change the room's layout. Additionally, if the skylight is causing leaks or other issues, it may be necessary to remove and replace it (which can incur additional skylight installation costs). It's important to assess your specific situation and consult with professionals if needed to make an informed decision.

Yes, solar tubes work during the winter as long as it’s light outside and they aren’t covered by snow. Sun tunnels are made to work year-round to bring in natural light, and some people find them even more beneficial during the winter. With less daylight outside, it can be even more important to bring brightness into homes to reduce electricity costs.

Pros of installing a skylight include the fact that you will get much more natural light in your home, skylights can make your room look bigger than it actually is, and your home may increase in value. Cons include difficult upkeep (you may have to get on a ladder to clean and maintain them), higher installation costs, and, potentially, too much heat gain from all the extra sunlight.

Yes, you can install skylights on an existing roof, and it’s a common service that many homeowners opt for, especially on older homes built when skylights weren’t as prevalent. The installation process will be a bit more involved, and the design and planning process will take longer, meaning you’ll pay more to install a skylight on an existing roof than you would in new construction. The process involves cutting a hole in the roof, moving rafters, if necessary, and installing and sealing around the skylight.

Installation typically takes 1-2 days, depending on the required roof type and structural modifications.
