Brent was on time (actually early) and had already begun his inspection outside - wasting no time. He went through my house with a fine tooth comb finding every single flaw, safety issue and minor indescrepency. He then walked through the home showing me the issues that needed attending and finalized his report over a holiday weekend having it available before he said he would. Brent was quick to give pointers and offer advice on every issue and didn't defer to the report, took time to explain and even stopped what he was doing to look at a few things outside his normal offering. Brent also made himself available with very short notice, probably booked solid, but fit us in even though he probably didn't have to unlike all the other home inspection services that turned us away. The 28 page report was more than enough. If I were bargaining with his report I definitely could have gotten the home cheaper had I been in an offer/counter offer situation. Great professional service.

Our realtor recommended a few other inspection companies, but I wanted to find my own, just to make sure it was completely impartial. Brent returned my call same day when I initially reached out to him last month. He had reasonable pricing and was available in the time frame we needed him. On the day of the initial inspection, he showed up right when I did, just a few minutes early, and got started right away. He was very thorough, answered all of my questions, and gave me a brief review of his findings at the end. He sent a very thorough report later that evening with plenty of detailed pictures. We asked Brent to come out for a re-inspection (additional $125, which he let us know about at the end of the initial inspection) and again he showed up on time and was very thorough. He spent a full hour on the re-inspection, re-checking the list of items we sent him that the seller was supposed to repair. He even took a few additional pictures at our request so we could see some additional views of the plumbing and wiring in the crawl space, which he didn't have to do, but easily obliged. Thanks to Brent's thorough inspection, we discovered the seller did not complete all the items, and he is actually squeezing us in at the last minute for a final inspection before we close tomorrow afternoon. We highly recommend Brent!

Brent did a great job for our home inspection. He was thorough and took the time needed to check the entire house from top to bottom. The inspection report was good and contained many pictures. He answered any questions I had and made several recommendations for certain items in the home.

Quite possibly one of the best experiences I have ever had with a Contractor. Brent was very meticulous and extremely professional. We were looking at an older home (built between 1875-1900) and was gutted and re-habed in 1955. The whole inspection was going extremely well and my family thought we were going to have a beautiful home to move in to by mid June. Then we went into the basement. Brent found some serious issues with the foundation, waterproofing problems, extensive termite damage and potential organic growth (mold). While this was extremely disappointing because the house search is beginning again, we could not be more thankful for Brent and his work. He saved us thousands of dollars with a potential money pit just trying to get the foundation fixed. Additionally, John from Affordable Radon & Mold Solutions did a great job of diagnosing a high Radon emission and proposed a quality - and affordable remediation system. Brent was an excellent inspector. He was prompt (Yes, he was there before me and already on the roof.) He had a very methodical way of working through the inspection and made sure to keep me in the loop with what he was seeing. Brent was very efficient and thorough. He spent quite a lot of time checking every inch of the house and didn't mind my following him around to ask questions. He also made arrangements for the radon testing and recommended a complete septic system inspection by a professional, as he admitted it was not his area of expertise and he wanted to make sure we were completely comfortable with the sizeable investment we are making in the house. Recommended a few names for septic inspectors, but ultimately left it up to our discretion as to who to choose and also advised that we recheck Angie's List if we were unsure for consumer reviews. We called him on a pretty tight inspection schedule and he was able to get us onto his schedule within just a few days. Did a complete inspection, took pictures of everything and made solid recommendations as to what "red flag" issues he could find. He was very meticulous in his work, leaving no door unopened or faucet unchecked. Did a complete crawl space check and found several issues the homeowner himself wasn't even aware of! He checked attic crawls and outdoor structures thoroughly. We felt very confident in his opinions. He provided us with a complete written report, with pictures and arrows, within 24 hours and had our radon report to us in time as well.

We were very pleased with the home inspection that Brent Wren performed for us. He was prompt in replying to our initial phone calls and e-mails. He provided a sample report for us, as well as an estimate, prior to our contract agreement. Two days in advance of the inspection, Brent had arranged for another company to complete the radon testing so that the results would be ready for us by the date of our inspection, which they were. On the date of the inspection Brent was there at the scheduled time. Throughout the inspection he was professional, yet also very personable He was very thorough and detailed in his inspection. He allowed us to shadow him throughout the inspection process. He pointed out and explained areas of concern, as well as other important details that would help us in the operation and care of this home. During the inspection he took many photographs documenting the major problems as well as other concerns. He even included helpful pictures, such as where the main water shutoff valve was located, where the bypass valves for the water softener were, and where the propane tank lines entered the house. We never felt rushed during this process. He spent almost 4 hours performing the inspection and explaining the results to us. Additionally, the final report, including the termite inspection and radon inspection results, was e-mailed to us within twelve hours! The inspection report was 47 pages long with many clear photographs illustrating problem areas that were highlighted in red to let us know that they were critical concerns. We were very pleased with Brent's professionalism and quality of work and we would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

Our new home has a septic system, which we were unfamiliar with, and he carefully explained the advantages and differences between the basic test he could perform versus a more thorough inspection done by a septic professional to help with our decision-making. I called Brent and left a message. He promptly returned my call. He was able to squeeze in a home inspection due to timing of our house closing. He arrived before the scheduled time and before we arrived. He did a through inspection of the house. I followed him around and asked many questions. He did not seem to mind at all. He took a lot of pictures which was included on the final report. He "red tagged" about five items which he felt would be necessary for the current homeowner to fix prior to closing. We asked for all five to be fixed and the current owners agreed to fix them all. He did not "red tag" things that really didn't matter. His final report was e-mailed to us the same day as the inspection. It was very clear and concise. I would use again if I were to ever buy another house.

Brent was very professional. He set up the appointment and was prompt in showing up. He took 2 hours to fully inspect the house including a crawlspace that was, as it turned out, half full of water. He found many many problems with the house that were not apparent to a homebuyer --including a broken water main under the home and termites. He was very meticulous in his inspection and emailed a very thorough report that included pictures and explanations of all the defects. It was easy to read and understand. As it turned out, the seller of the home was not willing to make the numerous repairs necessary to close the deal. Thanks to Brent I avoided a home purchase that could have been very costly in the long run. I will use his services again.

I chose Brent based on the Angie's List reviews and he lived up to all of them. He was very flexible in the scheduling, even postponing at my request while some other details of the real-estate offer had to get straightened out. Brent showed up about an half hour earlier than the appointment time and got to work on the outside of the home. Once I arrived, he did not appear to mind me "looking over his shoulder" the entire time he was conducting his inspection. He was very attentive to my questions and had a lot of patients with the questions. He took his time, spending about 3 1/2 hours to inspect the approximate 2200 square foot home. He took photos and documented many aspects of the home that needed attention. He went above and beyond what was expected, crawling through the vast crawl space that was pretty tight. He had several recommendations and explained everything in an easy to understand fashion. I requested a water sample test which is reflected in my stated cost. A report with photos and documentation was in my email box the same evening. I have used other home inspectors in the past and have been very unhappy with their service and detail of their inspection. I considered not using one this time due to the past experiences, but my real-estate agent was really unhappy with that decision. If I should need to have another inspection done on any property, I would call Brent.
