The home inspection was scheduled for 9 am and Ty, the Homeworx inspector, was on-time. The inspection did not begin until Ty went over the process in detail and discussed what were common issues with homes of this age and build. We then filled out the paperwork needed for the services we had requested (home inspection, termite/pest inspection, well water analysis) before preceding outside to begin the inspection. Ty was extremely thorough throughout the whole process and he has a gift in breaking down technical concepts to our level of understanding. Every aspect and component of the house was gone over in detail. Ty wasn't just interested in the condition of the typical items examined during an inspection. He looked over everything, making sure we knew how items were constructed, how they worked, and what limitations and maintenance needs applied. The entire process took 5 and a half hours, most of which was due to the detail of Ty's inspection (there was much in the way of disassembly and crawling around in hard to reach areas). Due to the diligence of the inspection, we have a very sound knowledge of how to operate everything in home as well as a long list of items that must be addressed.

I contacted Chriss as I was looking into purchasing a 1927 bungalow with some moister issues in the basement. Even though she was on vacation out of state, she returned my call and answered my quesitons. Upon their return, Ty came over to inspect the situation and gave me some options. I ended up asking for Ty to treat some issues as if they were mold. I then choose to have both crawl spaces sealed with moister barriers and insulation. Ty was flexible and accomodating on getting the work completed. He also worked very hard. He ended up alerting me to many things my inspector had missed (unfortunately that was the only service I had not gotten off Angie's List!).

Ty truly enjoys his job and does an outstanding job. He takes pride in the quality of his work and makes sure to explain himself thoroughly throughout the process.

We can't say enough good things about Homeworx. I called Homeworx on a Saturday morning and Ty spent 10 to 15 minutes speaking to my husband by phone about our mold problem. A few days later he came to our home and did a very through inspection, crawling under the house and going into attic spaces that have not been seen by man since our house was built. My husband, who has high standards, was impressed by the level of service during Ty's inspection. 1 week after the inspection, Ty came to remediate our mold problem. He went over all the details of the contract with me before starting, sealed off the area with mold and proceeded to take care of our mold problem. Ty was professional, organized, efficient and he was nice to my children. We were completely satisfied with the services performed.

This is honestly the best $425 I've ever spent. Ty was great to work with and spent over 5 hours with me going around, through, in, and under the house. Not only did he point out problems but told me how I could fix them myself or which ones needed a professional. I joked with him that this report was going to turn into the ultimate "honey-do-list." The short of it is, based on Ty's thorough inspection we knew things about this house that I never would have discovered myself. His willingness to crawl all over a cramped attic and slide on his belly throughout a massive crawl space resulted in discovering major mold and structural issues of which we were completely unaware. This house would have been a horrible investment and Homeworx saved us a ton of future headaches. Would I use them again? I already have. Ty inspected another house for us about a week later and was just as diligent in his efforts, especially when it came time to figure out how to get into an attic with an obstructed access. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend these guys to anyone.

Got there promptly at stated time, spent over 4 hours inspecting the property, compiled a narrative style inspection report with pictures and all. Very easy to get in touch with and communicate with.

The inspection was very complete. When he found something he explained the seriousness of the defect. He also pointed out strong points in the home constructing. All of my questions were answered to my complete satisfaction. I was very confident that I was buying a quality home. The seller agreed to fix every item I asked to be repaired, based on the report findings. I am very pleased with this companies work.

Homeworx delivered customer service and a quality of inspection beyond any expectation. Ty Nuckols, the inspector, is genuine and honest and the final report reflects it. He and I combed through our house, crawling in the attic and around the foundation. Ty takes the time to discuss the issues he finds; the history of the system, what the issue means and how to address it. I appreciated that he looked for inefficiencies in the systems and discussed ways to improve them. The inspection report is incredible. Mine is 36 pages. I know absolutely everything about this house. Each system has a section with a detailed discussion and photos. There is even a section of maintenance advice: what to do upon taking ownership of a house and lists of regular maintenance. The report came to me in two days and Ty called a couple days later and asked if and we had questions. I feel confident in the Homeworx and will use them exclusively. Nice job Homeworx!

We selected Homeworx based upon positive Angie's List reports and following a phone conversation and subsequent followup by Homeworx. They were professional and responsive both pre and post visit. Ty conducted a careful and thorough inspection, and allowed us to follow him on the inspection. He used special tools to detect moisture and to view the interior of duct work. We were provided with a comprehensive report following inspection. Overall, we were very satisfied with the quality of work, and we would absolutely recommend Homeworx.

He was very personable and very open and honest. He was people oriented, and he was very courteous. He helped me save a lot of money, which is excellent!

I accompanied Mr. Nucklos as he inspected our home. He was extremely thorough, prompt (and neat!) He explained in detail all things needing attention and took pictures as he went. He gave us many great ideas for preserving our home (ie draining issues) and improving the efficiency of our home, which will result in lower monthly utility costs. (We think the inspection will pay for itself in no time!) We received the written report promptly, which was quite thorough and easy to understand. We plan on having him regularly inspect our home to catch problems while they are still small.

Once again I went with Ty and his inspection expertise. I purchased a HUD home that was built in 1999 and I called Ty because I had used him just a few months back on a home that I purchased. Ty did a great job and provided a very throrough inspection of this home. The report was 27 pages long and gave me lots of information to consider and things to fix once I close on the house. Based on Ty's inspection I feel very comfortable in going through with the sale this time and closing on the home. The next time I need a home inspector I will once again go with Ty and Homeworx! Homeworx has now secured me as a loyal customer when I need their services. No questions asked!

Ty was wonderful. I arrived back at my house 10 minutes before his scheduled time of arrival only to find Ty already up on my roof checking out the leak I have from my chimney. Ty was very thorough. He walked me through every step of the testing procedures and he answered every last one of my questions. 2 years ago, Ty was my home inspector when I was purchasing my first home. He spotted a leak around the chimney and suggested that if I were to buy the house, then I needed to have this leak fixed preferably by a professional chimney person. So I did. The leak continued for 2 more years even though the company came back to try and fix it. When I accidentally put my hand through the damp, softened dry wall I found mold. This is when I decided to call Ty back. Not only did he test for mold in my house, he took samples and then searched the attic to see if he could find the cause of the leak. Since his visit, I have had the chimney people back to fix the problem, yet again, and Ty has already planned to come back after the next good rain to check the moisture level in my chimney. He is fabulous at what he does and if you are in need of a home inspector, my suggestion to you is, when Ty suggests to you that a mold inspection would be a good thing to do........just say yes and let him work his magic. I decided (2 years ago) not to have the mold test done because it was more money. Had I listened to Ty, the mold issues could have been remediated before I signed on the dotted line!! Ty and Chriss were very helpful in providing clearance testing for the mold remediation in our home done by another firm. Despite a mix-up on our part due to scheduling, we were able to get the testing done in a quick and efficient manner, and receive the results in a short time. When we received the results, we were overwhelmed by the amount of data provided by their testing lab, but when we told Ty he went to great lengths to review, explain and assist us in interpreting the results.

Our experience with Homeworx was very positive. We had originally scheduled an inspection with them in early July, but had to cancel at the last minute (the day before) due to the sale of our current home falling through. Chris and Ty were very gracious about the cancellation. When we received another offer on our home in mid-August, we again scheduled an inspection of the home we wanted to buy with Homeworx and were very impressed with the thoroughness and attention to detail shown by Ty. He thoroughly inspected the prospective home, talked through his concerns and findings with us that day and then created a detailed inspection report that will be useful for years to come. Ty also followed up with us in the days following the inspection regarding additional questions and concerns about the house that we voiced after reviewing his report. Overall, a very positive experience.

Ty arrived on time, and since I'd read the reviews about Homeworx, I knew it would be a thorough inspection (> 3-4 hours, like most inspectors). TY WAS GREAT! He explained everything he was doing, invited us to tag along with him so he could explain things, and caught so many things that the first inspection missed & the real estate agent had no idea about. They charge a rate for a certain number of ours, and then a secondary rate per hour after that. Ty let me know when he was coming close to the end of the first few hours, and asked me if I wanted him to continue, even though it would be additional expense to me. I REALLY APPRECIATED that...many contractors would continue to work and then give you a huge bill at the end, surprising the heck out of you. NOT HOMEWORX. When the real estate agent came back late in the day, she couldn't believe Ty and I were still there. And through the course of the day, I learned SO MUCH about things to look for in a home -- this one or any others -- as well as good things to remember for general home maintenance. Chriss was great with us when we asked for follow up on our report & invoice. Even though they were traveling for business, they sent us a thorough home inspection including multiple photos in areas Ty had found (versus one kinda blurry or irrelevant one, like the other inspection report). Ty then followed up via phone when they got back to town to see we had any questions - and when I expressed concern about the mold he'd found, he suggested a couple industry standards bodies that I could research to learn more before hiring Homeworkx (or anyone else) to do mold testing. They are very ethical, and expressed everything to us in the vein of wanting to educate without driving us to certain conclusions. They presented information in such a way that it advised us what was up, and then suggested possible causes, and things to consider when planning to repair/remedy the issue. I would suggest Homeworx again and again and again, to anyone who asked me for a recommendation on a home inspector. I'm confident we have the data we need to make an informed purchase (or to walk away). Thanks, Ty & Chriss!

He arrived on-time, explained everything in great detail prior to starting (as far as rates and specific inspection services to be performed), and was very thorough. Ty was very accommodating and took great care to explain everything he was observing, what the current building code required, and other suggested maintenance issues. I highly recommend Homeworx to others, and I would definitely hire him again. And I don't say that about contract people. I do wish he wasn't quite as expensive, but I did get what I paid for.

This is my second review of Homeworx. Once again they did a great job. I couldn't ask for better people to work with and Ty's thoroughness is hard to describe! Yet he still keeps things in perspective. Great work.

They are very knowledge, they gave us a detailed report with pictures. He spent more time with us, than estimated. I had coupon and they honored it as well. They go above and beyond.

He was prompt, professional and explained what he was and wasn't able to inspect. He did a very thorough inspection of house, garage, roof and crawl space, including a termite inspection. We were very pleased with his attention to detail and suggestions for major and minor repairs.
