He responded promptly and began his work quickly. He was responsive to budgetary needs and discussed alternatives with me. (One of the reasons I chose him the fist time is that he was the only one of the 3 who found the leak and he offered alternative solutions at different prices). He is helpful, friendly, a hard and thorough worker. He helped me to make choices that would work in my situation and even made friends with my dog. I am pleased with the results and would not hesitate to use this company again.

They did a very thorough and detailed inspection of the home. We were very pleased. Overall, they were top-notch as far as explaining the service that they were going to offer, going over everything, making sure that I understood, any question I had were immediately answered, and concerns that I had were addressed. They just did everything right.

Ty spent about 6 or 7 hours at my house going through every room and the attic space. He never found a reason for the smell in the room, but he found several issues that needed attention in my home. He found roofing issues that could be repaired to extend the life of the roof and shingles. He found improper electrical wiring in my four electrical panel boxes. He found an opening into the attic at the gable of one roof peak where maple seeds where blowing into the opening. He found tracks of mice in the attic. He found improper plumbing with my Reverse Osmosis system and water softener. I got a 24 page comprehensive report with photos of all the issues he found in my home. The report Table of Contents included Report Overview, Structure, Roofing, Exterior, Electrical, Cooling/Heat Pumps, Insulation/Ventilation, Plumbing, Interior, Fireplaces/Wood Stoves, Maintenance Advice. This report explained what he found to be out of code or safety issues and what maintenance issues he found long and short term. Ty also showed me several of the issues to explain them to me when he found them during the inspection. The cost for the inspection was $600. I chose a more thorough inspection. I realize now that the building inspector did not do a very good inspection and missed many items.
I asked if he knew anyone who could do the repairs. He told me that he has a company to do the repairs. I felt such confidence in him that we hired him to do the repairs. He gave me an itemized list of repairs that we chose to have done. He did repairs for the roof, gutters, plumbing and electrical system.
He repaired cracked shingles on the gable of my roof. He changed some guttering which had been improperly installed. He fixed the wiring issues in my electrical panel boxes that were improperly grounded. The total for the repairs was $1620.
In May of 2013, we had Ty out to re-caulk our windows. The cost of this was $900. Because of the weather last fall, he was unable to do the caulking at the at that time. So, we waited until spring to have the windows re-caulked. He cut away the cracked caulking and repaired with new caulking. He was careful to keep it clean and take away only what needed to be cut away. He did not have to remove all the caulking around all the windows and doors, but to cut away the cracked and add the new. He was here all day long and had to return the next day to finish the work. It was a lot of work. We have about 23 windows, three garage doors, two sets of patio doors and three exterior doors. He did a very nice job.
We believe that we have found our handyman to do any future repairs on our home. He is trustworthy and very competent. We highly recommend him. He is so trustworthy, that we were confident of leaving him at our home when we had to leave. We left the house unlocked so he could get inside if needed. We don't feel that confident with most workers at our home. We are totally confident of him and his work.

Overall, we had an excellent experience with Ty. Because of the home inspection, we found several issues that needed to be addressed for preventative maintenance. I was happy to know that Ty was able to do the repairs and that I didn't have to find someone else. I had photos of the issues, so it was obvious what needed to be done. My report was very extensive and some of the issues I decided to not bother fixing, but I have a report that I can refer back to if I decide to address those issues. My repairs were delayed later than expected due to issues he had with a repair job previous to mine that took a lot longer than expected. He did get to my repairs before the bad weather got here, so I was okay with that. Because of the cold weather, the caulking replacement job around windows needed to be put off until spring when the weather warms up. We did agree on a color for the caulking. Ty will return in the spring to re caulk our windows where the caulking is cracking and pulling away from the bricks/window frames. The window caulking repairs have not been paid for. This is something I decided to have done after our agreed repair job and was not prepaid. I will pay him when he comes to do that job. That will be an additional expense. I do trust him to do a good job. He did a great clean up job after doing the repairs. He left no sign of his having been here other than the repairs being done. I am very pleased with his work.

We bought a new house earlier this year, and a couple of months after we moved in we noticed a mold stain on the corner of our 1st floor bathroom ceiling. We had a plumber come in to check the problem and he discovered that our 2nd floor bathroom had a leak. He fixed the leak but not the mold issue.
We then called Homeworx to resolve the mold issue. Ty came in and did an outstanding job sealing the whole area, and working for more than half a day to replace the dry wall and remove all the mold. He also found that we still had a leaking pipe. He then went to purchase a new pipe (after talking to us first) and replaced to one that was leaking. He seemed very knowledgeable and reliable. He also noticed that we had an exterior vent that was painted over and therefore sealed. He fixed that as well, at no additional cost. Overall great experience. We would hire him again.

WOW!!!! I cannot say enough good things. It is unfortunately an oddity to find someone that is so skilled, knowledgeable, trustworthy, while keeping cost and reality in mind. We were so lucky to have found Homeworx through Angie's List to begin with. We had a wonderful experience from start to finish. He worked in the time frame expected. He explained everything, answered every question, and has a great work ethic. He actually talked me out of doing things I thought seemed important and he didn't think were really necessary. He was the voice of reason and helped make a big process and a lot of decisions not so stressful. It was truly a joy to have him and his team in our home, again with my 4 small kids. He just returned for his 1 year check-up to look at all the work that was done and make sure that everything was working properly. He took time to answer any questions we had and again was thorough. We will absolutely be using Homeworx for ANY HOME ISSUES that we have or want done in the future. This quality of work with a genuine knowledge and heart I didn't think existed anymore!

Ty and his crew at Homeworx repaired an interior wall in a small commercial building that was damaged due to plumbing failures. They repaired, replaced and re-painted the wall in one entire day. He recently did extensive exterior repairs to the same building, including replacing rotten trim, caulking, painting, and re-framing a set of windows. He has a great eye for detail and suggested ideas to make the property look even better. He and his crew showed up on time, always kept me apprised of the status, knew the building codes and maintained a clean job site. This company has also done work at my home. I would recommend this company without hesitation.

Homeworx was recommended to us by a friend who had used Ty. We were in a position to purchase a home and needed an inspection quickly, but because it was a bank owned home, I desired a thorough inspection to ensure that we knew what we were walking into as this would be an "as is" purchase. After calling Homeworx and setting up an appointment, the day arrived. Ty was on time and ready to go. He was extremely professional and answered all of my questions patiently and thoroughly and revealed much of what would be needed and could be done to the home. His knowledge and expertise was very much appreciated. His willingness to involve me in as much as I wanted to be a part of was very helpful as well.The only ding, and it is minor, was a delay in getting the actual report. Ty was very courteous and apologized for the delay, but it did cause some angst as we were up against the clock in putting an offer in before our time was out.Overall, it was an extremely positive experience and the detailed report that is received by the end will be helpful for years to come in maintaining the home that we did eventually purchase.Thanks to Homeworx for giving us the confidence to move forward with the purchase - our family is loving the home.

Ty arrived on time and got right to work. The inspection was nothing like I've ever had before! He took us all through the home from the crawl space to the roof and described what he was looking for, what he found, and what was good and bad about what he found. He allowed us to ask every question we could think of and really has the heart of a teacher. His report was thorough and allowed us to prioritize what was needed in the home. If you want all the information you can get before buying a home, Ty is your guy!! I'll never consider anyone else again.

Ty is personable and was able to quickly gain my trust. He arrived on time, got down to business and went over every aspect of the house. Ty is very conscientious, if he believes he has found a problem he will continue digging and digging regardless of how much work is involved. He simply will not let anything go. We spent 6 hours looking over my new home, and I am very, very confident that I know exactly the issues I am getting into with it. Frankly, I was exhausted.
Ty provides a very high quality service and charges accordingly. He probably isn't the cheapest guy out there, but I can say with confidence that if you are like me and want to understand all of your risks associated with the biggest purchase of your life, Ty is absolutely your man. Think of Ty not as an inspector, but as a consultant.
Incidentally, I have since received the inspection report for the home that I am selling. My buyer should have gotten Ty.

It went very well. I was impressed with the detail at which he looked over the house. He explained his concerns as we walked through and told me what would be major issues v. items to monitor. He was very thorough and the report provided mimicked that thoroughness. My husband was unable to be at the inspection but was able to full understand what was covered by reading the report. We appreciated all the insight and feel as though we are going into purchasing this house fully aware of the potential issues. We would definitely use Homeworx again.

Ty performed our inspection on a house we were thinking of buying. He found mold the first time and the owners said they would take care of it. Better to be safe than sorry we had the house reinspected- thank goodness! Ty discovered the mold had NOT been removed and it was still an issue. He walked us through the process of getting it treated and gave us some recommendations on who to use. I wish we could have used Homeworx but because he was the house inspector we couldn't. I would trust this company with any project. They are honest, detailed, and good at what they do.

We found Homeworx on Angie's List and called on a Thursday to inquire about having our hopeful future home inspected. Chriss answered the phone and was extremely helpful. I explained we had a certain amount of time to get it scheduled and she scheduled us the very next day. She explained the home inspection process and the method of payment and was extremely helpful. The next day Ty met me at the house on time and got started right away. He first explained what he would be doing and the terminology he would be using through out the process. Ty was EXTREMELY efficient, professional, and easy to understand. He left no stone unturned and explained what he found in laymen terms ever step of the way. My husband showed up half way through and Ty was patient enough to go over what we had covered so far- which was a lot! Ty explained to us what was a major concern or something we should just keep an eye one, etc. My husband and I were in love with the house and have rose colored glasses on when it comes to the property so it was nice to have someone go through and point out the potential problems. Ty and Chriss work with the home buyer- NOT the realtors- which is refreshing and helpful to know they are on the buyers side not the ones trying to sell it to you. I would absolutely recommend this company and am hopeful that the people that are buying my house DON'T because they will find EVERYTHING! :) Thank you Ty and Chriss for your help in this exciting time in our lives!

Ty was extremely professional, honest and accurate from start to finnish. There were no surprises with what needed to be done, and he had a clear plan and timeline for all work. Remediation and repairs went smoothly and quickly. Our house is a lot safer now that our problem areas have been fixed--appearance wise and structurally. I would recommend for sure.

Ty came to the house and introduced his self. explained to me what he will be doing and went right to work.He went to every room of the house,outside of the house and on top of the roof.He took lots of pictures and gave a very detail report.

We have used Homeworx twice and both times we had an excellent experience in getting a difficult undesired experience cleaned up. The work was performed and supervised by the owner of the company, everything was done on a timely basis, communication was excellent and at a good price. I would highly recomend.
