Very well. Greg is very thorough in his inspections and also is very honest! I appreciate his independence. In addition to the home inspection Greg also performed a radon test. I'm very satisfied with his work!!

Greg did a home inspection for a house we were purchasing that was built in 2003. He is a really nice guy, punctual, and professional. His inspection report was impressive and very detailed. The price seemed to be fair. In fact, we were very pleased with his work initially. However, after purchasing the house, we immediately started running into issues. We are disappointed because there were two specific areas of concern that we pointed out to Greg prior to, and during our inspection. Without thoroughly investigating said areas of concern, he reported that there was no issue, when in actuality, there were fairly big issues: 1. There was a tree growing into one of the corner gutters and we asked him to confirm nothing was wrong with the gutter, since to us, it looked as though it could be damaged. Greg said he did not go on the roof, but did not see any issue. After purchase of the house, we came to find out the tree had completely demolished the gutter. We had to cut the tree down and fix the corner gutter ourselves as a result. 2. We thought we saw a potential water stain and mold spot on a portion of the sill plate in the basement. Greg said that it was a discoloration and dismissed it, without actually getting up on a ladder to check. Right above this spot, upstairs, he did find that the sliding doors had a bowing to them. It turns out that the spot in the basement was indeed mold, and after purchasing the house and getting water coming into the basement from the area, we pulled the insulation out and found the sill plate and joist are rotted and have dropped about a quarter of an inch, which is why the door is bowed. Additionally, water is coming in through the subflooring and into the basement. This has been a huge headache trying to find help with this issue. It all could have been avoided if had he gone up on a ladder and pulled back the insulation when we expressed concern about the area. We spoke to Greg once about the issue with water in the basement when it was first occurring, and he said he believed it was a water management issue with the grading and drainage and once those were fixed the problem would go away. However, we have had several people confirm the issue is with the sliding door itself. It is unfortunate that Greg did not put all of the pieces together on this one, or at least check further behind the insulation in this area. The subflooring upstairs was also soft due to the rot and could have been detected. We missed this too, but we are not inspectors either. We sent him an email about the above “misses” with pictures included, and he chose not to respond further or provide any assistance.

Greg did a great and very thorough job, explaining areas of concern he would find and giving options for how to mitigate them. He obviously knows his craft and most importantly communicates WITH his clients, not just talks TO them. Would hire him again in a heartbeat.

The work went great. I will recommend for any new or future homeowners.
