 + 0 moreHe arrived 15 minutes early (which was fine with me), got right to work, knew what he was doing and got the old light down and new light up within 35 minutes. He then replaced the the broken cover on our external outlet in 2 minutes flat.
Description of Work: Mike changed out the light in my 2 story foyer for a very reasonable price (I had checked around). When he came to give me an estimate, he noted that the electrical outlet on our front porch needed to be reset and that the outlet cover had broken off. He suggested replacing it with a plastic "bubble" cover which comes up to gently sit on cords placed in there for a short duration, and has two removable holes in the bottom for things that are plugged in for a longer time (like Christmas lights). Good work.

 + -1 moreIt went great. We had an evergreen removed from our front yard and the electrical outlet at the base of it (which we used to use to connect the Christmas lights) was no longer needed. I called him in the morning and he was able to come out the same day. He got right to work, helped me to identify the correct circuit breaker, did the job and that was that. When the landscapers came back they were able to rip up the cord which was buried in the yard and all is back to normal.
Description of Work: He disconnected an electrical line that ran from an exterior socket to under a Christmas tree in the front yard.

They said that they did not think that the cost quote from the original electrical company was realistic and they said that we maybe needed $300 worth of electrical service instead of the $1,900 worth of electrical service that the other company said we needed.

 + -1 moreFor such a terrible disaster, Michael Inger made our lives easier through his expertise and professionalism.
Description of Work: A storm tore our electric pole from our house, subsequently we were without power. This was a dilemma as I work from a home office. A quick call to the electrician who originally put up the new electrical system the 2 years before never returned my voice mails (not on Angie's list, and still owed us for burning up our garage door motor during that install). Luckily, Michael Inger of Inger Electric Co did answer my call. My husband and I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Inger earlier in the spring to run electrical wiring from the attic and up from a crawl space to replace and update an electrical outlet and tie in a dishwasher in the kitchen. The whole interior house is plaster, so he had quite the challenge. Mr. Inger arrived on time, prepared an outline of what was needed and the cost. We approved it and he arranged the setup with a plumber who had to fulfill the dishwasher installation. I observed Mr. Inger to be focused, professional, and no nonsense with a pleasant demeanor. Knowing we would probably never hear from the original electrician (Never received a call back) Mr. Inger was our number one choice in handling this major electrical disaster. Though he was working at another site, he did manage to find time in the same day to come to our home to look over the situation, let us know our alternatives, give us a price quote and date to begin work. The pole falling had caused the wiring to come into direct contact with the box and had burned and charred segments of wiring, box and pole, all of which had to be replaced. To reinforce the box and pole to our brick facing Mike installed two braces with extra long bolts (at least 2-3) to each side of the braces. Mike contacted an engineer employed with the energy company when we voiced consideration of running the electrical underground. The engineer surveyed the site, but we decided that Mike had done a great job so that underground was not needed at this time. The afternoon after the storm, the electric was again working for the amount of $500. My husband and I agree that a person would have to be a fool not to use Inger Electric for any electrical issues.

 + 1 moreMr. Inger arrived on time to give me an estimate for the installation of two bedroom ceiling fans. He gave very detailed and thoughtful explanations on the different options I had - for example, having one switch to control both the ceiling fan and light (and using the chain to switch between the two) vs. having two different switches to control the fan and light separately. He was upfront about how much each option would cost and did NOT try to push the more expensive option. I opted for the cheaper option of having one switch control both of the fan and light. I was extremely happy to know exactly how much the job was going to cost in advance and not having to worry about paying by the hour. And I felt the price was reasonable. Mr. Inger was able to come to my house to install the ceiling fans on very short notice (the Saturday just a few days after I had my estimate), which was great because I was hoping to get them installed in a hurry. He arrived on time and did a nice job installing them. The first fan took a bit longer to install as he intially didn't think he needed to install a support beam in the ceiling. However, he tested the fan and when he noticed it was a bit wobbly, was quick to re-do the installation with the support beam. The second fan was installed very quickly. Mr. Inger also checked out an issue I was having with an existing ceiling fan at no additional charge. I'd hire him again.

 + -1 moreThe scope of the project changed a little as Mike got into it--joists ran both ways and several obstacles came up during the project. However, Mike was a true professional, consulted us continuously throughout the project, offered his suggestions as to what the best "new course of action/direction" should be, and never because flustered. He is extremely competent, a hard worker, and very fairly priced. We would use him again in a heartbeat!
Description of Work: Mike was hired to run a 220V line through existing walls and ceilings and hook up a quick disconnect 220 box for a hot tub.

Description of Work: The outlets in all my bathrooms weren't working although the lights were. I knew I needed to reset the GFCI circuit breaker but wasn't able to. Mr. Inger easily reset the breaker, showed me what I had done wrong and charged me much less than even his trip fee for his trouble!

 + -1 moreI spoke to Mr. Inger on Monday, explaining that my electric meter was coming off the house. He was able to stop by and look at it the same day. I did not have to be there. He explained that the main power would have to be turned off to do the work. He gave me some times that would be good for him, and I was able to get Duke energy to turn off the power the following Wednesday morning. Mr. Inger arrived promptly, meeting the Duke Energy lineman. The gentleman from Duke (who was really helpful and professional too) took care of some problems on his side of the circuit, and then Mr. Inger replaced and properly mounted the box. They both noted that the opening to the house had not been done well by the builder, and gave me the opportunity to apply some spray foam to seal it up before installation of the new box Mr. Inger worked quickly and efficiently. I also found him to be a nice person who was easy to work with. I certainlly recommend him

 + 1 moreoutstanding, Mr Inger's customer service and work is excellent. I recently moved to IN and the home we purchased required some electrical improvements. We wanted more light in the kitchen and wanted a few can lights. Mr Inger quoted us a good price and was able to come right over to install the can lights. his estimate was accurate his work excellent but his customer service is what stands out in my mind. I have used him for three repairs and improvements now and he remembers our name and the jobs he has done for us when we call. He is very professional, accurate and delivers what he promises on time and at the estimated cost. I will continue use and recommend Mr Inger for all electrical jobs that I have.

 + -1 moreBased on his experience with other houses in the area, he figured out very quickly that the yard light pole was shorting out the line. As soon as he disconnected it, everything worked fine. He gave me advice on waiting until warmer weather to change out the wiring and how it should be done. He was very knowledgeable about wiring and what wiring situations were in the area. He was very conscientious about doing things in a quality way. He was only here about 15-20 minutes and charged me for 1/2 hr work. I was very pleased. Many people charge a minimum of an hour or add a travel charge.
Description of Work: We had a breaker that kept tripping and wouldn't stay on. He disconnected the wiring to the yard light pole and everything worked fine.

During the visit, Mike Inger carefully investigated various options for installation of new retro fitted 240 volt wiring to provide new cooker power with least disruptive and non-destructive routing back to electrical panel. Very clear cost options were provided. Subsequently, the work was performed in a very professional manner and for the price quoted, despite the discovery of improperly installed wiring, patient analysis of the problem, and full correction to meet code. I will continue to use this company without hesitation.
