DFC sent two electricians they came out on Saturday. My house old wiring and thought they would have to rewire the whole job. They told me that after inspection the wire to the switch was fine saving $$. They did a great job and explained how they were going to attach the new fixture. I would recommend DFC to anyone who needs work done and you will get an honest assessment.

My husband called three companies and DFC was the first to get back to him. We wanted to purchase the coupon and use it; however, they advised it would more economical to just agree on a price because of the ceiling heights (it would have to be a 2-man job). So we agreed on the $275 price. They also said they could come out the next day. As I was having a bridal shower in our house the following weekend, time was of the essence. They called about 15 minutes before they arrived to say they were on their way. John and Bob were most professional, very respectful of our house, and although a couple of issues came up, they had solutions, and at the end, we now have two beautiful new fans installed! John overheard my husband and I talking about an issue I was having with my Ipad and he even offered a suggestion which worked (I was having trouble connecting to the App Store and since we were having new siding put on our townhouse and I noticed the problem started when they were working on it, he suggest we reboot our router. We did and problem solved!) We would use DFC again in a heartbeat. They were on time / extremely personable / and cleaned up after themselves removing the old fans. John even went over with us why the coupon would have cost us more and we feel we got a very good deal. We purchased our fans at a well known hardware store and they wanted to charge us double for the install.

It went very well. They ensured they understood our expectations before performing the work and offered suggestions on cost-saving efforts. We had an unrelated electrical issue two days after their visit and they returned that day to investigate. They helped us discover a potentially dangerous connection that was incorrectly wired by the previous owners of our house. They were very helpful in suggesting solutions. They were very courteous and did a good job!

Provider was significantly late but once he arrived he did quality work in a timely manner. Provider apologized for being late, which he indicated was due to his working extremely late the evening before on another job.

They installed a ceiling fan and multiple light switches throughout our house. They did excellent quality work and got all our room lights working on toggle switches. The guys that cane were very nice and very professional. Great to work with

Very satisfied with the work. The technician called to let me know he was on his way since it was after the appointment time. We discussed what I wanted by having two switches in the kitchen. It required installing a switch on one wall that did not have wire currently going to it. It took some time but was worth it. I highly recommend this company.

I bought all of the materials/items and they put in a door bell for me. They missed our scheduled appointment with me but they re-scheduled the earliest date to come out to me. Very professional and great work! I will be using them again.

I was going to use DFC Mechanical, for installing two new lights. My air conditioner stopped working. I had made an appointment with Gartner Heating & Cooling. I got the two mixed up because they were on the same printout. I received a phone call saying the cooling men would at my home around 9:00PM. I was so happy to have air.. I later found the were not the company I thought they were. I saw one of the walking down the street to go to the bar to watch the Hawks winning game. I did not have it on. He was to be on the roof with the other person. I was charged $650. He made the comment that all Heating and Cooling people usually will find something wrong, I was shocked. He later returned $250.

DFC Mechanical were great. They did it fast.

Very quick and professional. I like them a lot. Apparently does A/C work as well and will consider using them.

They did a very nice job and we will use him again. Everything was fine, the guy showed up when he said he would, did what he said he would, he did it correctly, he was very helpful, very knowledgeable and I'm very pleased.

Provider gave me a 10 am appointment, but did not arrive until 430 pm. He was friendly, professional, respectful of my home and did a great job. It was a long day for both of us, but I am very happy with the work and would use him again.

Scheduling took a few calls. Once appointment set, everything went well. The owner sent John who was excellent. He also replaced all the burnt out lights in one light fixture which I thought has gone bad. Very happy with the service. Recommended.

We moved into a new house and had a whole house generator installed. Dan and his crew were great to work with. They were very professional and stayed until the job was done (even on a Saturday). He answered all of our questions and was easily available if any other questions came up. We had a slight delay in getting the permit for the job due to the city's processing time. The area was expecting some significant storms, so Dan offered to come out and hook up a portable generator to power our sump pump if the power went out (during the time we waited for the permit). We definitely recommend DFC Mechanical for generator installation.

I first called Dan after I learned from a home inspector that the a/c system in the townhome I was purchasing was not performing to the standard of a 15 degree drop in temperature. The sellers refused to address the issue and I wanted someone to check out the system before I closed. During our conversation he assured me that I would not have to spend the money on a service call before I closed. He explained that the a/c was not working to standard because there must be a small leak somewhere. He gave me a price range and I said I would call him after I closed. I closed, called him and he was there the same day. He quickly found the leak in a connection outside, added refrigerant and finished the entire job for less than $150! I highly recommend him.

In my mind, price prevented my from moving forward. The last straw was in the summer of 2012 when I lost power. I had no idea how much I relied on electricity until I lost it for 3 days. I threw away food, my home was like a sauna, and my family slept in an unfinished basement to keep cool at night. To top it all off, there was no hot water to use and I had to manually lift a heavy garage door before going off to work. I finally have had enough! I researched power generators on Google and came across DFC Mechanical as well as other local contractors in my area. Like any good consumer, I called 3 to come out to give me a quote. Each one had a different dollar amount but I took a chance with DFC because they had the best price, answered all my questions, and was willing to work within my budget. When it came time to install my generator, they did not disappoint. Including the owner, there were 3 guys who worked tirelessly to get the job done within 2 days. They ran gas pipes in my basement with minimal mess and installed my generator in an area that fit my landscaping layout. I bought a 2 year service maintenance agreement and to this day, my generator goes through a weekly self test to remind me that my home is now protected against future power failures. I have to say that having "piece of mind" is priceless. Thank you DFC. ***UPDATE*** Fast forward to Monday, June 24, 2013. Game 6 of the Stanley Cup finals between the Chicago Blackhawks vs. the Boston Bruins. An hour before game start at around 6pm, a line of storms moved into my neighborhood and sure enough, I lost power that lasted past midnight. If I did not have this power back up system, I would have missed a part of sport history. My generator to over moments after loss of electricity and I got to watch the whole game. I wish I could say the same for my neighbors :(.

Both of our units are 20 yrs. old and Dan was very satisfied with their condition...he didn't try to sell me new units. Very knowledgeable and thorough in his inspection. We'll invite him back in the fall to service our furnaces.

He called by 5:00 with an estimate and they were out the next afternoon. (Bob and John). After discovering our AC unit was not working due to a refrigerant leak, we first called a technician from a larger company to come out. This technician did not bring any of the proper equipment to test for a leak and was going to charge a ridiculous amount to repair our system. After that negative experience, we called DFC Mechanical right away after reading all of the positive reviews. He was able to schedule an appointment quickly and was very professional from the beginning. He brought all of the necessary equipment and thoroughly tested the system for any leaks or problems. After cleaning/repairing the unit- it has been working great ever since. He was very efficient and reasonably priced. I would definitely recommend DFC Mechanical and plan on using his company again in the future.

This is the third time I've called on Dan to perform electric work at my home. The first two times, he did a variety of tasks. This time, we had problems due to the flood on April 18, when our basement took a great deal of water. We needed to have the basement almost completely re-wired, so I did not hesitate to call Dan. As always, he did an assessment, explained in detail what he would do and when, and gave a reasonable estimate. Dan and John are extremely knowledgeable, professional, courteous and respectful. It is always evident that they care about the work they do and their customers. They clean up when they've completed the job, answer questions and are always polite and smiling! I highly recommend DFC Mechanical and they will always be my first choice for an electrical contractor.

My experience with them went well. They did a wonderful job. They were really prompt and they were on time. They didn’t try to sell us a whole bunch of crap. They cleaned what they needed to clean. They told me to give them a call if in case I needed them back; it was great. They helped us figure out what kind of air filter we needed and we needed to change them because we have just a new house. The biggest thing was that they came out and did what we asked them to do which was basically to clean out furnace and make sure everything was okay.

Dan did an amazing job, he showed up at about 9am, they dug the trench for the outlet, changed out the 20amp breaker to a gfci breaker, ran a12 gauge wire 20ft from the house to an new l520 outlet grounded our pool and pump, they back filled the trench and finished all the wiring in a very timely manner. I would use them again for any major project. Overall A++++.

Just called to schedule an appointment and were told by Dan that the coupon for $89 for 2hrs of service can not be used. This coupon is only good for people who live in West Chicago. Since we are in Chicago the coupon does not apply. When we explained it didn't state that online he proceeded to tells us that Angie's List is not correctly advertising.

We discovered our air conditioner wasn't working when the weather finally warmed up, so we called DFC Mechanical. They were able to schedule a service appointment very quickly and were very friendly and knowledgeable. They repaired the machine and had it working in less than an hour! If we ever have any further issues with our heating and air, we know we will be calling this vendor again.
