"Wow, World Painting does outstanding work.
I had a ton of drywall repairs that needed to be done.
They sent two nice folks out.  They arrived a few minutes early and went straight to work.  They cleaned up after themselves.
The next day the returned, again on time, and sanded the areas they'd fixed out.   They cleaned up after themselves again.
They worked very efficiently and they knew what they were doing.
I highly recommend World Painting.  Good people, great work, more than reasonable price.

"Tabitha had a poor crew working for her. Once she fired the crew and hired new workers, the punctuality improved to an A. The overall painting was excellent. Tabitha and her crew filled all nail holes, cracks and had to repair a few areas that had water damage. This was done to perfection. She and her workers did an outstanding job with the clean up and how they left the house. We will definitely hire her again"

Small jobs welcome

"I have to say this company has out done themselves. I understand that these projects are costly but they donâ t rip you off and their pricing is very fair. They are honest, the work is amazing, they were flexible with my work schedule, they showed up early and worked in the rain too. My family and I are super happy with our deck!! I will continue to use their services for all of our home projects!!"

"I had front stairs that needed to be repaired and railings that were in need of replacement. I had been looking for a contractor to do this work for over a year. After my initial request, I was able to receive a quote the same day and the work was started the next day. The railings that were there were high quality and were able to have the feet that were fully rusted replaced, the rust and old paint removed and everything repainted beautifully. I also had a light replaced on the front of the house. I highly recommend this team for communication, reliability, reasonable prices and great work!!"

Deck Repair questions, answered by experts

The most likely causes of a deck leaning to one side are damaged deck posts, soil erosion, and inadequate deck footings. If you’re not sure about the exact cause, the best option is to call a contractor who can build a deck to inspect the damage and recommend the best way forward.

Both deck footings and deck posts help prop up your deck. However, footings are the bottommost parts of a deck that touch the ground. They’re usually made of concrete. Posts are pieces of wood that attach to the top of the footings with brackets. They run upwards and connect to the underside of your deck to support its weight.

In most cases, your deck will need some form of deck footing to hold it in place, preventing moisture from rotting your wood and decreasing your deck’s lifespan. Concrete deck blocks are the most common type of footing for floating decks. Some homeowners use ground-level deck footings. For added security, consider digging and laying your ground-level footings below ground.

The best direction for a gate to swing depends on its location and purpose, but swinging inward is the general rule. An inward swing is often considered safer, prevents the gate from opening into public spaces like a sidewalk, and may be required by local building codes.

There are exceptions and specific considerations. If your property is on a slope, an inward swing might not be possible. For a deck gate, it's safest to have it swing away from any steps. In a backyard, the direction can be a matter of preference, though an inward swing can be helpful when carrying heavy items like a wheelbarrow into a garden.

Regardless of direction, ensure the gate can open fully without hitting any objects or blocking spaces. While an inward swing is standard, a gate that can swing both in and out offers the most flexibility if your setup allows for it.

Covering your deck with a breathable tarp can protect it from snow, ice, and cold winter temperatures. This is a good winterizing solution if you don’t plan to use your deck at all during the colder months. However, it might be best to skip the tarp if you’ll still be walking on your deck or using it in a limited capacity.
