Hi my name is Gavin. I am 19 years old and have already worked multiple different trades and I’ve learned a lot of things from professional contractors. I am now trying to start a business of my own and trying to establish jobs for myself to get this business started. If you’d like to give me the opportunity, it would be a great pleasure and I will do my best to make you happy as I should as an owner of a company I will get fair prices based on my knowledge of doing it and be completely honest with you before doing it. Thank you.

"My "first impressions" of George Bankston (owner of Advanced Clean) were postive from the beginning. He was pleasant and easy to speak with on the phone. Was prepared and had schedule availability to me in in moments. Was accommodating to my requests to my availability. I work long hours and was difficult to be there on a certain day of the week.

Before he arrived, he gave me a courtesy call letting me know he was near my home to begin job. (He was on time). When he arrived, he was with his partner and son. Both were professional in appearance and treatment. They explained to me in detail what the process would involve and were great at answering any further questions I had.

The equipment they used were clean, modern and well maintained. Which put me at ease. A previous company I used in the  showed up with their machines messy, dirty and sounded like they were about to blow apart. They even scraped my walls with the machine and I had to touch up with paint. But George and his son were careful and great with their machines.

I have a two year old and a dog at our home. Our carpets have been targets for spills and stains on a daily basis. From juice spills, popsicles, food, doggy accidents, everyday traffic and other stains. I was amazed to see how clean my carpets were when they finished. And the best part - they smelled fresh and clean and only took about 45 minutes to be completely dry to walk on. Not like my other experience where my carpets were saturated and took hours to fully dry to not even be clean or smell nice.

I recommend Advance Clean for any carpet challenge you can throw at them. Also, take advantage of their other services they offer."

"The process proceeded exactly as described. We were sent materials to make a template, we traced the table, choose the color for the top and bottom and sent the information to the company. Several weeks later our pads arrived. We really like the magnetic link between the pads and they stay together extremely well."

Upholstering questions, answered by experts

The best way to test the quality of a leather couch is to put your hands on it. If the upholstery is soft and warm, that’s a good indication that the quality is higher. It should also smell like traditional leather. If it smells like chemicals, you’re probably dealing with low-grade leather.

If your usually super soft couch feels crusty and rough after cleaning, it could be that you haven’t removed the cleaning product properly, you used too much, or you applied the wrong type. Always check the couch tags to select the right cleaning product, read application instructions carefully, and test on an inconspicuous corner. For fabrics such as microfiber, you can soften and fluff crusty fibers using a soft-bristled brush.

Consider durability, color, texture, room use, and personal style when selecting fabric. Fabrics like linen, cotton, or microfiber offer versatility and strength.

To safeguard your furniture and upholstered items, it's best to use plastic wrap or specially-made plastic sofa covers. However, you should avoid wrapping wooden furniture in plastic if you plan on storing it, as plastic can trap moisture and warp the wood, plus it may damage certain finishes. In either case, old blankets or moving blankets make excellent alternatives. For protecting delicate glass table tops and mirrors, bubble wrap is always a reliable choice.

The time required to reupholster furniture depends on the item's size, complexity, and condition. The hands-on work can range from 2-3 hours for a simple dining chair to 10 to 20 hours for a large sofa. The total project timeline with a professional, including fabric sourcing and scheduling, typically ranges from one to three weeks.

Several factors can affect the timeline. Antique furniture often takes longer due to the delicate care required. If additional repairs are needed, such as sanding or refinishing wood components, the process will also take more time. A DIY reupholstery project will usually take significantly longer than a professional job.
