Brick and stone siding last the longest, sometimes providing protection and curb appeal for 100 years or more. These siding materials also cost more than any other, but the value you get for the money is also superior. To calculate how much siding you need for exterior walls, first measure the height and width of the rectangular walls. For the triangular gable walls, measure the width and then the height from the ground to the tallest gable point.
