Restore Construction rebuilt our home following a fire June 2020. Mike, Chris and Tom were the main contacts and always answered me promptly. Conrad and crew did the rebuild. We were able to make some changes for functionality and quite pleased. They made recommendations when I was overwhelmed with choices. Even after we moved back into our home, Restore was responsive to my inquires and followed up promptly to address minor items that needing attention. I was pleased to hear from my mortgage company's inspector that they like the work that Restore does as well as Restore having a reputable standing with our insurance company Allstate. I pray I never find myself requiring a home rebuild but if I do, I would use Restore Construction. Thank you!

At first ok, but in the end there is work that was never completed. We have signed documentation from Chris that he would have the tile fixed in the kitchen that they replaced. The grout was cracking before we even moved back in the house. Now there are areas that do not even have any grout left. The garage floods and the apron was cracking and flaking just a year after it was replaced. They were to return some $800.00 they received from State Farm to fix the back yard. The yard was never fixed and we never received the funds. Calls and emails were sent and finally we stopped getting any answers. Guess they hoped we would go way. Do not use this company. Oh and at the end of the job they fired the contractor they hired due to that team allowing pipes burst on another job.

Restore was great. The team at Restore really made a difficult situation easy from start to finish and their professionalism and craftsmanship was excellent!

My finished basement flooded with sewer water. I called Restore and they were out there the very next cleaning everything up and putting me and my wife at ease. They were extremely professional and great to work with. Top notch from start to finish!

After some serious flooding on the NW side, Patrick and the team at Restore saved the day. We called Restore when our basement got a foot of water. Patrick came out and checked out the danage and walked us through the insurance process. A little while later an entire team was on scene, sucking up water cutting out carpet and drywall packing up everything that could be saved and usung the biggest dehumidifiers i have ever seen. And they handled dealing with our insurance with work starting 3 days later. They really made a terrible day bearable. Tremendous experience with Restore

It was ridiculously easy with Restore! They were so quick to respond and get here to clean up and disinfect! The crew were so professional they know what they are doing. It’s a great family owned company so they really take pride in their work and it shows!

Our basement was completely destroyed from water damage and they came out the same day and did such a tremendous job. Very professional. Very meticulous. Very efficient. So happy with their work and would definitely recommend! (Hoping we won’t need to use them again, of course, but would absolutely if we did!)

I want to thank you for doing great work repairing the fire damage to my two flat building. Everything was done professionally and every detail was repaired to my satisfaction. You always kept me informed by telephone or in person. Few contractors take the time to reassure their clients. Emails are too impersonal for senior citizens.

Restore Construction certainly made the experience of having a home fire & everything that goes with it much more manageable all the way around. The board up crew were right there to secure my home. The owners sat me down & took the time to explain the process even though I was in a state of shock. The pack out crew...they handled my belongings with the utmost respect. Most of them were there finishing up as I continued to sift through personal papers. The gals hugged me tightly before I left & told me it was all going to be ok as I cried in their arms. Staff would come to our temporary apt to drop off/pick up paperwork instead of us having to travel out to them. It was a hellish ordeal that I don't wish upon anyone. Between weather, issues with permits/inspections from our town, I was calling/following up with the office. Anyone that I'd spoken with listened with compassion & answered my questions kindly. There were times where I just needed to vent & cry. They took the time to allow me to do that more so than they probably should have. I was having such a difficult time because the inspections were taking so long that during one meeting I could only shake & cry. I had a friend with me & Restore allowed me go through my little breakdown & made sure my friend all the specifics. It was almost a year & a half & I was out of my mind. We'd moved 5x by the time we got back in our home & in all that, Restore & their crews hung in there with me, holding me up with kindness & respect. They contracted a wonderful Dry Cleaner & the contractors that finished off my house did an excellent job. If you're on the northside, you'll probably get Gold Medal Cleaners & I would definitely ask for BOR Construction. I'm grateful that Restore partners with these wonderful companies! I feel that Restore Construction took very good care of us & am grateful for how they put up with me in my extreme emotional state, treating me with respect & kindness. I won't ever forget that.

Communication from this company is terrible. I went through 2 Project Managers over the course of 4 months. I was lucky to hear from them more than once per month. They would not return calls or emails and the only way to get them on the phone would be to call the main office and hope that someone from the management team was there to speak to. It took this company 4 months to complete a job they thought they would get done in 1-2 months. The incompetence started when they stained the lower floors of my duplex a different color than the upper floors. They refused to restain the upper floors to the same color since it was going to cost them money. All the while, they refused to take my calls and make a decision on how to correct their mistake. Eventually we settled on them restaining the lower floors to the same color as the upper floors. This was not the color of my choosing but they refused to do anything else. They will do whatever they can to save costs. We agreed to switching out a vanity in one of the bathrooms and they mistakenly bought the wrong cabinets in the kitchen (not a surprise) so they simply used a kitchen cabinet and the existing granite on the old vanity to make a makeshift vanity to save themselves cost on their mistake. It doesn't look good. The individuals doing all the work on my unit did not speak any English so communicating with them was impossible. My unit still has some issues that they said they would fix and haven't, primarily our dishwasher shakes because they didn't take the time to secure it to the opening. I told them 5 times about this issue and nothing got done.

They're phenomenal. We went through an awful experience with another company, and Restore Construction fixed it all up. They're really professional. They have different sets of crews and have specialists. They have a supervisor on site every single day. They don't leave. They also have another supervisor who comes in every week and checks everything and checks in with me. They tell you exactly what they're doing that week or the next couple of weeks. Everything they do is very professional. My contract with them is 17 pages long. They're really good. They've been right on the money so far. They haven't missed a thing. I'd recommend them to anybody.

The Project Manager, Julian Doce, has been patient and attentive to our specific requests-- no matter how big or small. He has been excellent, as was the entire team that worked on the house. Julian was in close contact with my husband as the work progressed and we were relieved, knowing that our home would be returned to its pre-fire state (actually much better). We just can't say enough. The floors (hardwood) are beautiful, as is the customized paint job throughout, and the kitchen is...WOW! THANKS, Julian, the construction team, and all of the management and office staff who were professional and informative from start to finish.

My wife and I were totally panicked when our basement flooded, not once, but twice, and through a recommendation, we called in Restore....They were at our house in Arlington Heights within 40 minutes...with a full team of exceptional personnel...their work was fantastic, reassuring us that everything will be fine with them on the job....they removed walls, carpeting, had all clothing taken out and cleaned....and boxed and stored everything else until the total remodeling was done....GREAT JOB, GREAT COMPANY, GREAT PEOPLE....Thanks Mike, you and your company are the best....

They did a great job from beginning to end.

After our house was involved in a fire, Restore was sent out by our insurance company.  Restore had done some work in our area and  we checked with those people as references and agreed to have them do the work.  Restore provided professional services from the beginning, they stayed with us after the fire and explained the process, performed the damaged goods inventory for the insurance company right away so we could begin getting reimbursed, and removed all the rest of our possessions from the house to be cleaned and stored, they also sent over a dry cleaning service for our clothing.  The remodeling process was slow to get started due to city permits but once they started they were pretty much there every day working on the house.  The people they used on our house were very respectful of our property and were there waiting for us after we got home from work each day to let us know what they did that day and what would be next.  We were able to move back into our house after 5 and 1/2 months,  There are some outstanding issues at this time, but we have been told they will be resolved shortly.

Restore responded immediately with a quote. By the next day the fans were going and the basement walls and studs were removed. After a brief drying period, they rebuilt the studs, drywall, the laundry room, new cabinets and sink. They were so good that I there was not a necessity for me to drive everyday from the suburbs to the city to check there work. They coordinated all the tradesmen, plumbers, carpenters, etc. The basement looked 1,000% better than before. New linoleum was installed, and all the wood floors were resanded. In addition, they fixed the bedroom wall damage that was caused by a small leak in the roof. Everything was repainted . I called on them again when the A/C outside unit was stolen as the house was being sold in May. And again, the response was better than some of my friends in the industry. I am thinking about redoing my own basement and bathroom. I would not hesitate to call them.

I was in a tough situation, I needed the backwater to be removed from my house and my insurance company sent this company out. Right from the start I was concerned about their prices. Sure enough, the estimate came in at the same amount as my deductible. So, I expect to pay higher prices when dealing with contractors that get their pricing from the insurance companies but the workmanship has to be there. When you charge top prices your work better be there. They left carpet that wasn't damaged in standing water. They drained the dehumidifiers in a non-working sink due to the storm. The debris from the black water was still visible on the bathroom floor. The tack boards from the carpet remained, keeping the bacteria underneath. The drywall around the recess light that the black water poured through wasn t removed. Some of the carpet was not cut evenly, leaving jagged seams which will make it harder for my carpet technician to reinstall. Contaminated throw rugs were not properly disposed. The crew was to arrive on Saturday August 9 to address these issues, but they never came. Then they said that I was given a break on how long their equipment was left there. The best part is after the technician who addressed my concerns was leaving, I had to ask him twice for the final bill. He told me we were even. Six weeks later, without a final bill or walk-through, they charged my credit card without my approval. It took several calls to get someone to return my phone call. I sent a letter and their follow-up letter didn't even address half of my concerns. Four weeks later, I had a separate water issue and hired another company for a third of the price and much better quality. They also did a walk through with a final bill.
