I reached out to Angi for moving and Angi suggested several companies. One of them was AAA movers, which contacted me. Nate McCaleb called me, and we went over my moving needs for which he gave me an estimate and sent a copy of the estimate by mail on April 17th. I told him that as of then we were planning to move on May 1st, however, the buyers are waiting for clear to close from the bank and therefore, the exact date and time will have to be worked out later to which Nate agreed. He asked for a $50 refundable deposit to which I agreed and gave my credit card number. My buyer's attorney reached out to my attorney on April 23 and asked for an extension of the closing date as the bank had not yet cleared to close. My attorney responded on April 29 and offered an extension to close till May 8th. Shortly after that I called Nate and told him about the situation, and he said do not worry and just let me know when you are ready to move, and I will take care of it. To my surprise I received a text message on April 29th at 9.27AM indicating that the crew will arrive in 27 minutes at my place. I immediately called 224-281-5171 and informed the gentleman who answered the phone that there is a misunderstanding, and I told him that I had informed Nate several days earlier that we cannot move until the buyer's financing is firmed up and we have a firm date for closing. To that the gentleman said he will let Nate know. Few minutes later, I received another text message indicating that the crew has arrived at my home. Few minutes later I received notification indicating that my credit card was charged $474.27. I never authorized this transaction, and the company took the liberty to use the credit card information Nate had gathered for the $50 deposit to charge a total of $524.27 on April 17th itself. To say the least Nate was misleading because he never indicated that he would charge $524,27 on my card instead of $50 deposit I just noticed in their cost estimate, that "If your move is cancelled within 48 hours of the move date, it will be subjected to a 2 hour minimum charge." I never cancelled the move, but I was waiting to reschedule the move with Nate (with whom I had discussed about rescheduling the move to another date) pending closing on my house! As soon as I saw the notification, I called Nate and pleaded with him to do the right thing and reverse the charges and told him that if he does the right thing, I will work him to complete the move. After going back and forth about the estimate he had sent which I never signed and did not review until few minutes ago, he said he will talk to his manager and try his best to reverse the charges and get back to me. Since I did not hear from him for couple of days, I tried to reach him several times and he does not answer my call. II recognize that sometimes there is miscommunication or lack of communication, and my experience may have been accidental. However, I do not believe it is fair to charge me for perhaps a mistake that resulted from internal company miscommunication. Moreover, their I would like a refund of my deposit of $50 and the subsequent charge of $474.27 for a total of $524.27.

"Member put a deposit down on 4/17 for a move he booked with us that was scheduled for 4/29. He had corresponded with Nate, our moving consultant that he may need to switch the date and would call him back if that needed to be arranged. The member never reached back out to say that he needed to switch the date. We even sent a confirmation email on 4/22, which he opened, that stated it was scheduled for 4/29 and that if he were to cancel within 48 hours of the move, a 2 hour minimum would be charged to his card. This statement was also included in the email that was sent when the move was originally booked on 4/17, which he also opened. He once again opened an email on 4/28, which was a reminder of his move for 4/29. Since he never called to reschedule his move, we had a crew come in for his move and we sent them out there on the scheduled date of 4/29. He even received an automated text the morning of, stating our crew was on the way. There were many times he could have called to say that he needed to reschedule or cancel the move but no communication was made to us. When we arrived on 4/29, he told us he needed to reschedule and did not want us out there. We then charged our 2 hour minimum because the crew had came in and drove out for his move. It was stated in all correspondence that this would be charged if customer cancelled the move within 48 hours. We were willing to apply the two hour minimum that was collected from him to his next move with us, but a date has not been chosen yet."
