Ground FX Flooring is a 'Shop at Home' flooring business. We bring the showroom to you. Mark Novoa, owner of Ground FX Flooring, has over 19 years in flooring experience and is fully licensed and insured. We're bringing a 'big city' idea of mobile flooring showroom to the rural southern Illinois area. Instead of going to the big box stores and falling for the gimmicks of promotions or traveling to different flooring stores and paying a deposit for a sample (that will hopefully look right in your homes lighting), we bring a variety of flooring samples straight to the customer’s home. No more hassles to pick out flooring! Ground FX Flooring works with individual home owners as well as rehabbers, insurance companies, hotels, restaurants, doctor offices, residential and commercial rental offices, etc. Because Ground FX Flooring has cut all the overhead of a stationary building, sales representatives, and every day cost of running a stationary showroom, we are able to pass the savings directly to our clients! We are a small business that offers huge savings. The owner does all the networking himself, along with the free in-home visits that provide measurements and a complete job proposal. Each job proposal will include prices for the material, supplies, labor and sales tax. Once the proposal is accepted by the customer, an install date will be set. Once every job is completed, the owner, Mark Novoa, and the customer will complete a walk through to ensure that every job is completed professionally and to the customer’s satisfaction. Ground FX Flooring takes pride in making the experience of shopping for flooring exciting and offering convenience to every customer. Ground FX Flooring is a business based on customers needs. We offer appointments and schedule any day of the week, based on the customer's desired time. There will be someone to answer the phones at all times. If you have any questions, want to increase the value of your real estate, or just want to check out our amazing mobile flooring design center feel free to give us a call.

"I’m normally not the type of person to write reviews. Good or bad. But in this case I couldn’t not say anything. We had laminate flooring put in our whole home about 6 or 7 months ago by these guys and spent a good amount of money. We immediately started having issues with locking mechanisms breaking because of a poorly prepared subfloor. Mark, the owner who guarantees his work for a year sent a crew back to fix problem. Which they did and while laying the kitchen floor back down they glued every joint which is not a normal thing to do for laminate flooring. After about a week we still had the same problem with it breaking. Now he refuses to fix it because he found out his crew glued the whole kitchen floor and it will all have to be replaced to get to the problem area. He told us if we had to pursue legal ramifications that was fine which we are in the process of doing as we speak. Do yourself a big favor if you are considering hiring mark from ground Fx flooring to do your floor. DONT!! Save yourself some time and money and one **** of a headache."

Carpet Installation questions, answered by experts

When installing carpeting on your steps, start at the top and work your way to the bottom. That way, you can easily control the carpet and create a better seal. This approach prevents the carpet from bunching up or creating wrinkles as you work. You’ll have better leverage over it as gravity helps guide it down each step.

There are a few things to think about if you’re deciding whether to repair or replace your carpeting. For starters, consider the extent of the damage and the age of your carpet. If there are minor rips and snags and your carpet is still relatively new, it might make more sense to just replace the affected section. Otherwise, if your carpet is nearing that decade mark or has widespread damage, it’s more logical to replace your carpet entirely.

Carpet lasts between five and 15 years. However, your carpet's life span will depend on several factors, such as its type, cushion, and the amount of foot traffic it receives. After 10 years, most carpet will show some signs of wear and tear, which might include fading, wrinkling, and loss of texture.

It’s a good idea to install a rug pad under the carpet for your stairs. To make the pad fit, you’ll need to cut one section for each stair tread that’s about one inch narrower than the stair runner so that it won’t be visible once the carpet is installed on top.

You can lay carpet by yourself, but that doesn’t necessarily mean you should. DIY carpet installation can save you on labor costs, but you’ll have to pay more to get the right tools and equipment first. A knee kicker, carpet stretcher, and seam roller are a few pieces of equipment you’ll need that you may not already have lying around. And keep in mind that repairing or replacing carpet later because of a bad installation is twice as expensive as paying a pro to handle it in the first place.
