"Peter Lindstrom was a true professional. He was on time, explained was he was going to do and informed me what products he would use. I had many pet stains ( from a dog who had been very sick) I was very apprehensive that the stains could be gotten out of a very light color carpet. He worked and removed these stains. Very impressed! He also does window washing. He came back the next day and washed my windows and did an excellent job. I would highly recommend Peter"

"The under boards of my carport were in need of replacement. Yarbro arrived to look at and then give an estimate. A start time was agreed upon. The work began. Work had been performed by an area roofer. Unfortunately, when John got into the tear-off, he noticed some errors. The previous work had to be completely torn out. John fixed the problem and I was quite happy with the outcome. The damaged plywood was totally replaced. New fascia was then put in place. To finish the job, Yarbro painted the plywood, sky blue. I am thrilled with the completion of my carport. I know that it has been finished, with a high level of perfectionism and craftsmanship. I recommend Yarbro for any outdoor job you may have. Perfection-Pricing-Professionalism."

"I could not be happier with the final product! The first pic is the old bathroom from the 60s when the house was built. The rest are the final rebuild and it looks great. I would highly recommend VMK Remodeling for any project that you might have. I am also going to get a bid on redoing the deck on the back of the house as Vince's company does decks as well! Thanks to his great crew as well, great people to work with."

Windows questions, answered by experts

Generally speaking, you should clean your windows and any associated fixtures and treatments every six months. Otherwise, clean them as needed to keep everything running smoothly. If you live in a part of the country with especially hard water, you may have to clean them three or four times per year, and the same goes for areas where insects, pollen, dirt, and other debris can soil your windows and potentially cause issues with the moving parts.

New window installation costs range from $300 to $1,500 per window, depending on size, material, and energy efficiency features.

Your new windows may let in more noise than your old windows because they are not the right size or they were installed improperly. Improper installation, or choosing windows that are too small for the opening, can create gaps around the window that let in noise.

Another factor could be the STC and OITC ratings. If your new windows have lower ratings than your old windows, this means they have lower performance when it comes to dampening noise from the outdoors.

Impact windows are a type of window made with impact-resistant glass, designed specifically for hurricanes. The glass, treated with ethylene-vinyl, can withstand winds up to 200 mph, as well as flying debris. Brands sometimes test their impact windows with large missile impact tests.

Impact windows may be required in some places. For instance, the Florida Building Code requires homes to have impact-resistant windows if they live within a mile of the coast where wind speeds can reach 110 mph or more.

Yes, egress windows are grandfathered. However, this comes with some specifications. If you are remodeling a basement or adding a sleeping area, you’ll need to update the egress windows to be up to proper code. But, if you’re leaving your home as is, you do not have to adhere to these requirements.
