"Ken, who owns this business, has a lot of integrity. I hired him initially to mortar and Tuckpoint my chimney and the brick on the front of my home. I had a bit of water leakage in my basement and felt it was because of the missing mortar (now, no leaks). Not only did he do an excellent job on that (matching color and style), but he found defects with the way my recent HVAC had been installed and mortared the open clay flue to the furnace. He installed a liner into my furnace flue for a very reasonable price and stuck to that price for stainless steel, even though he ran into obstructions that caused him to have to open up the brick wall, in the basement behind the fp, to chip out the flue obstructions. He then closed the wall, and rebricked and mortared it, matching the original brick. He tied that furnace and hot water heater into the new ss lined flue. It's much safer! When I could see how well he works with brick, I tested his skills on cement, and he took my front cement porch, drilled out imperfections, filled cracks and built me a step to the front porch that had become a big step up. He also built me a cement step into the house from the garage (wooden step was decaying) and an additional step on a side door small stoop that had sunk. Not having to replace this cement work saved me thousands in cost. Ken also filled a significant opening into my garage from the outside connected to cement failure on a side floor/bottom of wall on both the outside and inside. He is incredibly dedicated to getting the job done in a way that satisfies the customer. Ken is rare in that he treats your home as if it's his and tries to give 120% to make it safe from carbon monoxide leaks and leakproof from water. It's not that common to find high integrity and low cost in the trades. I found him secretly mortaring a bottom side to my chimney, under the dirt, with black mortar, because he found a small opening left by the original builder. WOW."

"Michael review Michael came to my home three times to estimate a project we had in our home: renovate a bathroom and a tile floor. He gave me a bid after three inspections and discussions of the scope of work and project. He said it would take 10 days to complete, but I offered to give him 2 weeks to ensure he had plenty of time. Immediately, things began to go wrong. Every single day Michael would find a new thing to complain about, and demand that other workers on our job site fix them before he would proceed – “install a window,””make this floor level,” “fix this plumbing pipe!” He consistently pulled other people off three jobs to do the work that I had hired him for— and which was clearly define in our contract and scope of work. Michael began to create stories in his head about conspiracies against him. He told me all my workers were against me— and plotting against him, trying to set him up to fail. He was unbelievably dramatic, with excuse after excuse as to why he couldn’t even begin the job. He threatened to quit there job many times, but as he had demanded a 50% deposit and all costs of matériels up front, I was eager to see him complete the project instead of quibbling over what he felt he was owed. A painful month and a half later, we’re in the same position that we were when we first began, and Michael finally has quit. He quits after dragging his feet and finding every excuse not to start our project for over a month — and is still withholding HALF of the deposit I gave him for labor and materials. Throughout all of this, Michael was demanding, rude, abrasive, and condescending to me, the home owner, my designer, and my team. I’ve never had such a dramatic or demanding contractor who expected everyone on a project to put their lives on hold to meet his needs. Do NOT hire Michael and this company if you want a pleasant remodel experience — or if you want quality work, or work done all. Word to the wise: Look elsewhere for your project."
