Bought and installed a ceiling fan over the weekend. Light and fan turned on fine but flipping the wall switch off broke the circuit. We called Hardt Electric Monday morning. Received a return call within 30 minutes. Todd came out by noon Problem solved in less than an hour. Extremely pleased with his knowledge, professionalism, and efficiency. He explained what he was doing which was very helpful. Will definitely use for future electrical needs.

We found the company on Angies List and called. Someone returned our call within the day and they were able to come out the following week. Service was competent and employees friendly and courteous. He was able to fix our wiring issues in about an hour and a half.

Called on a Thursday to schedule electrical work by Todd, and he made time for us the following morning! Hardt gives Angie's list customers $30 off the first hour of labor, which was a great deal because installing five ceiling lights lasted 2 1/2 hours. Todd gave us great information about the wiring in the condo and even gave information about two wall sconce wiring boxes. The ceiling lights look great.

They are very professional and easy to work with.

I called them at 5:15 pm and they responded immediately. I installed a new fixture and changed the junction box to an outlet box and realized there was a problem when the electric panel sparked when I turned the power back on. They had someone out first thing the next morning. Very responsive! It was a simple solution and the electrician was able to fix it quickly. They honored the Angie's List coupon even though I did not have a hard copy. They definitely value their Angie's List customers. I felt like that may have been why the owner was so willing to send someone so quickly.

Todd is GREAT! Extremely responsive. He came over and checked out the problem. The wires for my a/c were a size too small, but were still delivering adequate voltage. Told me how much it would cost to rewire. I opted at the time to not do the rewiring at this time, but would definitely call Hardt if I do choose to do it. He also was able to find a very creative solution to a lighting issue I had in my kitchen. He is extremely honest and hard working. I would definitely call Todd again with any electrical issues.

Bob came out the next day to see what needed to be done (when I called late in the day he was at another place). Ours is an old house, so there were a number of issues that needed to be addressed.Todd, who did all the work, arrived on time each day and was busy every minute doing what we needed. He was experienced with old house electrical issues (a mix of cloth wiring, conduit and px), multiple changes by non-electricians that didn't meet current codes, unexpected multiple floor connections on a single circuit, and finding hidden or obstructed junction boxes. He was absolutely great. Knew his stuff inside and out. I feel so much better now knowing that the house isn't going to burn down because of an electrical problem. I have already recommended Hardt, and Todd in particular, to others.

After initial phone contact and an explanation of what I needed I was contacted by Todd. Luckily he had an opening in his tight schedule and was able to help me. Todd arrived at the expected time and I explained again that I wanted to move the electrical outlets down about 3 inches each so that I could install a glass tile back splash and not have the outlets right in the middle of the tile design. My outlets were old and not up to code but Todd had the needed supplies. He got right to work after we determined the best placement for the outlets. Took about 90 minutes from start to finish. Todd was very organized and cleaned up after himself. I appreciate that he was able to come out on such short notice.

The house dates back to about 1917 so the wiring would not be expected to live up to high end modern standards. Some of the wiring in the basement was extended and maybe redone during WW2 and aluminum wires were found in some of the circuits during the present work by Todd and friend. But the primary source of the problems we have been running into lately dates back 6 or 7 years to a kitchen renovation performed by a contractor who grossly exaggerated his electrical skills when we hired him to do the job. Virtually everything he touched involving electrical wiring was crudely and inefficiently done. The cosmetics were generally good but behind the surface the work was remarkably shoddy. What we particularly found disconcerting and what led us to contact Hardt Electric was that significant amounts of power were being stolen from one appliance or light when an appliance on a different circuit was running at the same time. There were obviously severe problems to be dealt with and the impact on our cash flow turned out to be rather stunning but there are times when you have no choice but to bite the bullet. This was one of them. We will certainly in the future when renovation projects are looming make certain that the contractors involved are as highly knowledgeable as they claim to be. Given the mess that he was faced with cleaning up Todd and the other guy did an excellent job over the time they spent here. The work was pretty grueling and they seemed quite committed to getting it done as quickly as possible. We were pleased with the results (if it is really possible to be pleased with paying $5K for something that should have been done right the first time 6 or 7 years ago). Todd called at 9:00 am confirming that he was running on time for the appointment set earlier in the week. I walked him around the house explaining what needed to be done. He introduced himself to my mother and her primary care person, who happened to be in the kitchen as he began his work. He was very patient explaining what he was doing and pointing the correct way to do electrical hook-ups (especially pointing out where the hook ups were done incorrectly). Topp was pleasent to talk to and a very competent electician.

very well; Todd was clever in using a circuit holder that I wasn't using in order to save a trip to the Home Depot; his truck did not have the part; Tho, I will have to connect the other at a later time.

Service was excellent and quick. I do not believe the work was taxing, but we are not electricians and we appreciated him walking us through the issues and providing the tips.

Diagnosing the problem in my 100+ year-old home was not simple but Todd was excellent -- thorough, professional and talked through each step. I have more work to be done in the future and will not hesitate to call on this company.

Response from my initial contact to their first visit was excellent - within minutes I was contacted by the company, and shortly thereafter by the serviceman, Todd. He was able to come the next day to look over my list of items, and was able to finish some of the work during that visit. He then came back to complete the rest of the work according to my schedule. Todd is an excellent service electrician and wonderful representative of his company. He explained everything he was doing, and why he was doing it, and he offered me options along the way. I was extremely pleased with his service and feel like he really cared that my needs were met.

After being assigned to the job by his supervisor, Todd called me promptly to set up a service time. He also answered several questions I had about the type of outlet that I should install for this purpose. On the day of the service he was prompt in arriving. He explained what he was going to do and the approximate amount of time it would take. Because the outlet was for a wall-mounted television, he needed to locate the outlet in the proper place relative to the mounting bracket. He assembled the bracket and attached it to the television to get the proper measurements. The outlet was installed in about 3 hours. His service was courteous, professional and efficient.

Todd was on time and very professional. We live in a 100 year old building with lots of surprises behind every wall and Todd was able to trouble shoot easily. He explained that one of our fans could be difficult to install due to poor work beforehand, but he overcame the obstacle easily. He helped to assemble two fans that we were installing and was a pleasure to work with. THe job took several hours and Todd had all of the necessary equipment and tools with him to do the job. As far as I am concerned, I would use them again. No brainer.

I wanted new lighting over the kitchen island to replace old track lighting. Todd from Hardt came out and provided an accurate estimate. He recommended a lighting store with a showroom, made himself available for questions while I was shopping at the lighting store, and reassured me that I could get the lighting I wanted stating "we can do anything electrically so get what you want". He was very punctual and professional. He also identified a problematic switch (which I forgot to tell him about) and replaced that as well. He did all of the above expediently and expertly.

Todd, an electrician with Hardt Electric, performed an electrical repair at my home at the end of August. He did an outstanding job. When I received the bill about a week later, I felt the charges were fair. Before Todd left on the day he did the repair, I asked him about replacing a bathroom exhaust fan/light with an exhaust fan/light/heater combination. Todd researched and found a fan/heater/light. He called to tell me the price and estimated the amount of time it would take to complete the project. Todd arrived on time the day of our appointment in early October. He installed the new fan, including some modifications to the exhaust pipes in the ceiling. He added additional insulation. He installed new switches controlling each part of the fan separately. When the project was completed, he showed me how the new switches controlled the various lights, heater and fan. He requested a broom and swept the floor. Everything looked great and it still is great. He did not leave the instruction booklet or the warranty information for the new fan. When I left an e mail the next day requesting that, he did not respond. I received the bill on October 25, 2011. There were two charges added to the end that I didn't understand. One charge was 10% of the materials cost, $45.43, and the other was another 10% added on to that, $49.97, close to $100.00 with no explanation. When I called, I was told that the first 10% was overhead and the second 10% was profit. When I received the bill for the August repair, no additions for profit or overhead were added to the bill. I will pay this bill because the work was completed, the work was of outstanding quality and I am enjoying the use of the fan/heater in this cool weather. However, I will not use this company again because of the extra charges that were added after the job was completed.

I really like the way Hardt Electric did the electrical job at my house. Todd, electrician,quickly returned my phone message and scheduled the work that I needed done within 3 days. He was on time and came prepared to complete the job. In fact, he estimated the job to take about 2 hours and finished it in about 90 minutes. I was so impressed by this. He reviewed the job with me and stated that if the line needed any adjustments he would be happy to return. I am always impressed with companies that explain the job from beginning to end and then review it with customer when all is complete. I will definitely call Hardt Electric again and recommend them to my family and friends.

Following an electrical storm, the electricity failed in two second floor bedrooms, the laundry room and the hallway. Upon calling Hardt Electric, Bob made suggestions to help me over the telephone. When those attempts to fix the problem failed, he had an electrician call me. The electrician, Todd, worked with me to meet my time schedule and we made an appointment for the following day. Todd called when he was about twenty minutes away from my home. He arrived early. Todd examined the rooms where there was no electricity and disconnected all items plugged into walls. The circuit breaker still would not hold. Todd removed the breaker box cover and removed the breaker. As the breaker came out, water also came out. Before Todd left to obtain the correct breaker type, he examined the outside of the house to determine possible sources for the water in the electrical box. When he returned with the correct breaker, Todd used my hair dryer to dry the box, installed the breaker and tested it. He then went outdoors and, using a caulk-like product, Todd plugged two areas that were possible entries for the water.

Excellent, were able to show up and perform work on the same day I called. Todd showed up early for appt - he did call first -explained all of his work and checked things to give me piece of mind on the previous electrical work he was fixing. I have an out door spa that acutally caught on fire and burned up the internal circuit boards, wiriing needed to be checked for safety and power restored to the replaced circuit board. Was more than willing to look at additional items that needed repair in addition to the out door spa. Actually scheduled an additional appt for additional work later.
