Small jobs welcome

"I ordered a Murphy bed from Wayfair that was far more difficult for me to assemble than I thought. Jehu Solis provided a reasonable bid, arrived on time, worked diligently, and, most importantly, did a fantastic job. I would rehire him again."

"Fantastic ! Dan and his crew did an absolute professional job on my home. Work was excellent and completed ahead of schedule. His price was very competitive. They used the highest quality materials to ensure it lasted. I've used Miller Home Improvement on many jobs and recommended him many times. Feedback from the people I have referred him to has always been excellent. I will continue to work with them for all of my future home improvements."

"Technicians worked on two projects; electrical repair of a dawn to dusk light and the installation of a new toilet. The work was professionally assessed and completed. I would use the company for future repairs. However, I felt the cost of the electrical repair was a bit overpriced."

"The team from Mormat were quick to setup and get started on the job.  It was a cold day to be replacing the door so I was happy to see that they took the time to get as much of the prep work ready as they could before they began to take the existing door down.  Once they got started they let us know what they would be doing, and they began the tear down.  There was a lot of rotting wood around the old frame, and the walls were a mixture of the dry wall and weather worn cinder blocks.  Everything was a mess, but kept the debris to a minimum which was great since we had to pass by the area several times while they worked to do chores while they worked.  Overall the finished install was amazing for the door and I'm pretty sure it's the sturdiest structure in the house.
The electrical panel in my home was outdated and needed to be replaced as well which they assisted with.  When we moved in we found that not only did the panel need to be replaced but we weren't quite sure what breaker went where.  The team from Mormat took the time to not only replace the panel, but also to make sure I knew where everything went.  I now have a clearly labeled panel, which makes things so much easier whenever I need to do work that I feel comfortable doing, safely.
I have had the experience to use their services for the company I work for, and it was great to see that the professionalism and detail they bring to an office space they also offer to their residential jobs.  Given the broad range of skills I have seen their team employ, there will be no doubt that I will continue to use their services for any of my major projects in my new home."

Generator Install questions, answered by experts

Costs range from $500 to $2,500, depending on generator type and installation complexity.

While the rating will tell you how many watts the refrigerator needs at the peak of its cycle, it requires additional wattage to start. At the bare minimum, you’ll need a 1,500-watt generator to get the fridge up and running after a blackout. A 2,000-watt generator should be sufficient for most home refrigerators.

In most municipalities, you will need a permit to install a permanent home generator, including emergency backup, partial-home, and whole-home generators. A permit for a generator usually costs between $50 and $250, depending on where you live. Your electrician or certified generator installer will usually pull the permit for you—and might be required to do so by your building department—but you’ll be on the hook for the cost of the permit. You should ask your installer before agreeing to any work if they will pull the necessary permits for your project.

Generators are usually sized by running watts and starting watts. Ideally, you’ll want a generator that can offer both the necessary running watts and starting watts for everything you need to power without going beyond 90% of its capacity. Calculate your home’s electrical load based on the breakers in your home or adding up the appliance and lighting needs of connected rooms.

To power a central air system during a power outage, the whole-house generator will need to be at least 5,000 watts, and this number will significantly increase for larger units. Check the specific wattage requirements of your AC unit to choose the right generator size. Consider consulting a generator installer to ensure your whole-house generator meets your electrical load needs.
