I thought I was hiring an engineer to examine the foundation of a 1930s home and give me a plan for repair. My fault for not asking more questions before hiring. What I received was a verbal commentary on things I already knew. He did see one thing in the attic that I didnt know. I received a one page summary for $500 and one hour of his time. Heck he didnt even confirm if a wall was load bearing or not.

I hired Stephan when I noticed some cracks in my brickwork and was worried about foundation issues. He responded to my inquiry quickly and came out within a week. He did a thorough inspection and recommended some cosmetic repairs. He also promptly sent an official post-inspection report. It's hard to find a structural engineer in Atlanta, so I was pleased Home Advisor was able to connect me with Stephan, who I would definitely use again.

My wife and I just recently moved into a new home and one of our first ideas was to take down a wall and open up the basement to make it more of entertaining space. Based on the amazing reviews we saw on HomeAdvisor, we decided to give Vest a call to come to look at the structure. Stephan and the team were able to confirm that it was a load bearing wall and were able to provide sketches/designs for a potential structure to support the floor above the basement. The Vest team was extremely professional throughout the project and I absolutely would recommend using them for your project.

Stephan came out to do a structural inspection on a house we were already under contract to buy. He found $30k+ of potential repairs, including needed support for a crawl space wall and many support beams that were cracked or eaten by termites. Saved us from making an expensive purchase, and came out less than 24 hours after we called. Would recommend.

I had some concerns pointed out to me about my foundation from the home inspector, so I called in Stephan, the Professional Engineer from Vest, to take a look. He assured me on the foundation, made some recommendations, and found a couple of other areas to keep an eye on. He provided a very complete report with pictures. Having Vest come out is worth the money as part of due diligence.

Good email communications. Courteous and professional evaluation of what is needed to stabilize my basement wall that cracked horizontally and bowed in about 1/2". His recomendation was communicated to me orally in easy to understand manner. Further, he prepared a written report that I still need to print to get estimates for foundation repair.
