"Thanks so much for your ongoing support, Randy. We're happy that you were pleased with the staining project, and look forward to working with you again whenever you have a need!"
Very Very well Please above comments
The next morning, I went back to the house and there were paint drops all around the hardwood floors. Since the floors were all taped over in every room they were painting in, I have no idea how paint got anywhere, let alone most areas of the kitchen. It was the paint from the job as the old colors didn't match mine in any way. And some of the paint drops were large so they were still wet. When I called the office to tell them of the paint on the hardwoods, they literally said the following "can you get it up?" !!! I'm pretty sure I paid for them to not get paint on the floor to start with so I knew then I'd made a big mistake.
In trying to inspect the rest of the work, I found piles of sanded drywall on the counters (as if they spilled it when removing the protective plastic they used) in the master bath and kitchen and even on the shower floor. The master bath had been navy blue and there were lines of blue paint showing at the top of the back splashes and tile work. There were a few more issues I noted so I sent the list to the office and they promptly scheduled a "pick up crew" to take care of them. The two person crew showed on time and took almost half a day to do 1-2 hours of work. The reason it took so long is that one guy was removing the drywall dust with a wet paper towel. I've never seen anything so ridiculous and we hire out a LOT of work! I offered a hand vac for the work and he declined the offer. I take full responsibility that I didn't insist he use the vacuum! What he did actually didn't get all the dust so I had to clean after they left.
Finally. two months later we moved in and eventually we noticed several of the walls in the master bath and a couple of areas in the kitchen had not been hit with the second coat of paint. There are dark areas (brown in kitchen and navy in master bath) showing right inside the cut ins. They're almost perfectly rectangular and square areas. Our color is kind of a buttercream so it's super easy to spot these areas once you know they're there. We wrestled with what we should do and finally decided that since the company has not done a particularly good job twice now, there is no need to contact them again. I feel pretty sure they would agree to come back and paint the areas that were not properly covered, but we don't want them back in our home again, period. I don't think they're a bad company, just that we got the worst crew they have... They apparently use subs (as noted on this site). Had I caught that before we never would have called in the first place. So I take the blame on making the wrong choice to start with. We hired another company (that is not on Angie's List) to paint the last three rooms in the house (that the first company didn't paint) and while they were wonderful to deal with, they also had to come back and repair missed nail pops and missed areas where the second coat didn't make it either. I guess there is no such thing as a quality job painting company in the ATL these days.
