The nice thing about what Pruning Guru does is that they do it all by hand and every member of Rick Smith's team has some education and certificates behind their knowledge. They're excellent at what they do. Would recommend them to anyone.

Rick Smith, who owns The Pruning Guru, has always been a pleasure to deal with. I have found no one else in Cobb County that is as knowledgeable as he is and knows exactly what he is doing and needs to be done. I used to trim my Crepe Myrtles and thought I did a decent job until I hired his crew and then saw the change in the Summer. He knew that my Ligustrum were in need of help as well but without his input I would have not known a thing about the problem until it was pointed out. Don't let this company get by you. There simply isn't anyone better suited to bring that pop back into your property than The Pruning Guru.

Wonderful! They came out and made suggestions, stopped work in one area when they came across an active bird's nest, were in and out in no time and cleaned up after themselves. They even took a giant branch that had come down during a recent storm. And the best part is, they prune by hand, planfully and carefully so that the shrub isn't stressed and retains its natural shape. Except that there's more light on one side of the house, you really could not tell that they had been here--which is what I want! The crew chief educated me, too, about what they were doing. I've been a homeowner for over 30 years, used to do a little gardening, thought I knew how to prune (when I was younger, I did it myself) but I still learned things. So you get way more than your money's worth with them.

We were disappointed. They came when we were not at home and we found several items that had not been done that should have been. The owner then came out and took care of it but we felt it was a lot of money. Also if you have a lot of trees and shrubs you had better be sure every one you want included is written down or it will not be pruned. Maybe I am wrong but I would think that you come and look over the property and include everything unless explicitly told not to prune something and that your price should include it all.
We felt it was very expensive for what we received.

I hadn't had my yard pruned in over 20-30 years. They sent out 4 men and they worked all day. They pruned everything exactly the way they said they would in the estimate. They cleaned up everything every little spec of dirt. It looks so nice and it looks great and they were very polite.

I have a "gardner's" yard, which means it's not the usual variety of plantings. I have unusual ornamentals, a few rare specimens, and generally a lot of plant material on my 1 acre. It can become very lush and overgrown without annual shaping and pruning, but I've had AWFUL pruning experiences in the past that lead to misshapen or stunted shrubs, and even the loss of three old dogwoods. It's been difficult to find a trustworthy company to prune correctly, which is a lot more like sculpting than hacking. I am thrilled to report I've found a company that excels at creating air and light in a yard without murdering the plants or their shapes. Owner Rick Smith is a certified Landscape Professional who worked for Post properties at one time. We walked the property while he used a recorder to create a list of items to be done. He knew the botanical name of each plant, giving me confidence that he knew his stuff. I was scheduled for 3 weeks later. Rick returned with his crew of 4 or 5 and they worked for about 4-5 hours until the job was compete. Two trailer beds of brush and limbs were hauled away, the site blown off, and we walked the property to make sure everything was satisfactory. My yard looks groomed, freshened, and tidy but naturally layered. HURRAY! I have no reservations recommending Rick and his crew.

I've used Pruning Guru for awhile now. I think their price is rather high. I'm very satisfied with the way my lawn looks. They also do mowing and weeding. I pay them monthly. They provide a professional, thorough service.
