We hired Outback Deck in June 2024 to build our backyard deck and spent nearly $60,000. What should have been exciting turned into a frustrating, seven-month ordeal of mismanagement and poor communication. We often had to act as our own project managers just to keep things moving. The workmanship is disappointing: misaligned and warped handrails, a floorboard cut too short leaving a gap, and a crooked concrete pad at the base of the stairs. Despite assurances these issues would be fixed, once we paid in full the follow-through stopped. Two months ago they came to inspect the problems, but since then we've had no response. We *still* haven't been able to stain the deck because repairs haven't been made. For the price and their reputation, we expected far better. Instead, we're left with an overpriced deck and a company unwilling to stand behind its work.

contacted outback about installing a retaining wall . and since i had used them before on a much larger wall i  felt that secure that a good job would be done it took longer to get the H.O.A  approval then to install the wall and chris moore took care of any problems that i had. The cost of doing something right the first time is important  to me and i would rather pay a fair price then be unhappy down the road

I spent $37000. They rebuilt the deck and added a screen on the porch. The service was great. There were some communication difficulties in understanding the configuration of the stairs. Overall it wasn't bad. The workers were very prompt and they had some weather issues so they had to wait a bit but they did what they could when they could.

" In the summer of 2014 we purchased a deck replacement and hardscape project from Outback Deck.  The owner, Bryan Miller, plus his team, met with us and walked us through design process, the multiple types of product selections and the new code requirements for deck and retaining walls required by our county.  They were extremely thorough with the details, yet made it simple to understand and made the decision to move forward with them the natural next step.
Our project included a premium synthetic deck and an engineered certified retaining wall.  They handled everything:  design, permitting, installation and inspections.  Our experience with Outback Deck was tremendous and we highly recommend to our friends and family to call Outback Deck for their next project.

We were very impressed by the knowledge and expertise of the owner, Bryan Miller. After our first meeting, we were satisfied that he would build a quality screened porch and deck for a reasonable price. In retrospect, we do wish that we had asked for a more detailed contract which may have helped avoid a few miscommunication problems we ran into with the project manager. We were blessed that my husband was home and caught them before they attached the screens on the inside of the porch, as we had specifically requested they be placed on the outside, giving them a little protection from our young grandchildren and dogs. He also was able to stop the builders before they finished framing in one of the doors as they were about to put it in the wrong location. Bryan went out of his way to make things right. He even went to extra trouble and expense to find a secondary handrail for the larger stairs that will not splinter like wood or get hot like metal and protect the tender hands of the young ones. It is a sturdy aluminum rail inserted into a PVC sleeve that was installed several weeks after the rest of the project was completed. We are very pleased with the finished project. We love the way it looks and my husband said it is so sturdy you could drive a truck on it. We have already gotten a lot of use out of it and it makes the perfect place to sit each morning for my Bible study and devotions.

I would tell people to use them. They are a little bit more than other guys, but it is worth it. My deck looks like it belongs in a magazine. They were fast, efficient, and they cleaned up my property every day. They were attentive. They sent a big crew because it was a big job, and they were done quickly. I think I got my money's worth. I hope I never have to build another deck, but if I did I would use them again.
