 + -1 moreOscar is very skilled, and competent at his work. In addition, he is honest, reliable, punctual, and takes pride in his work, and in making sure the customer is satisfied with him. His prices are very reasonable, and he does a great job. In addition, he is a very moral, religious man who "works as unto the Lord". He prefers to work from 8:30 to 4 in the afternoon most days, in order to be home with his children in a timely manner, so jobs take a little longer than with a contractor who wants to put in long hours to "knock out the job" but the quality with Oscar is worth it. And thus he's not working when he's exhausted and not rushing to finish, while compromising on quality. And Oscar is so trustworthy, I wasn't tied to the house because there was no need to monitor him; he just is committed to doing a great job, and that is clear when you meet with him and see his work. I also have several friends who have used him, and they were all extremely satisfied as well.
Description of Work: Did 2 jobs for me: 1st Oscar painted my Master bedroom, master bathroom, hallway, stairwell (3 coats), and dining room. He did an excellent job. He completed all prep work, did 2 or more coats, all trim, moved furniture, covered everything, cleaned up well. It cost $2000, materials included. It did take two weeks, but that was because he pays attention to details, and works alone. 2nd job: We then hired him to do some minor remodeling for us. He knocked a hole in a supporting wall, built a doorway to put in a large closet over the attic. He subbed out to a licensed electrician to put in lights and electrical plugs. He put in insulation, floorboards, drywall, trim, door, and replaced drywall in an adjoining bedroom. And painted everything including trim. He has done excellent work for us. He also built wooden shelves in the closet. And it is now ready for us to install carpet. Total cost, $2500 including materials and electrician.
