Just n Time construction and remodeling

First, he came recommended from a good friend. He was in the process of redoing their deck when we had him come by to quote on our deck and bathroom. At that time, he had purchased the wood for our friend?s deck so he knew the cost of the supplies. We?d been burned in the past with verbal contracts so we made sure everything (cost, payments, timing, specific details) were in the written contract.

Our contract stated that it would be finished in 3 weeks. We made it perfectly clear that we were having a big party September 26 so if he couldn?t finish by then, we?d rather have him start after the party. He started Aug 10 so we figured 6.5 weeks was plenty of time. Boy, were we wrong.

The problems started a few weeks in when the tear down of the old deck wasn?t even complete. We had a payment plan of 50% down ahead of time, 25% down when it was 75% complete and the other 25% down when he finished. Long before he was even close to 75% done he said he had run out of the money we gave him and he needed more to buy supplies. So we gave him the first 25% ahead of time. After a while he said the wood was costing a lot more than he thought and would need more money. At this point we needed the deck to be done for the party and he basically said he couldn?t buy the supplies to finish if we didn?t pay him in full. We paid him the full amount (which covered the deck and bathroom) grudgingly. He finally finished the deck a couple days before our party, 3 weeks longer than our contract stated.

Our bathroom was supposed to be done by the party too, as we needed it for people swimming. We had already paid him all $12,000. Party was Sep 26. He just finished the bathroom Nov 19. Seriously.

He wouldn?t return calls. He?d say he was coming by and never show up. We had to have our friend that recommended him tell him to finish the bathroom or else. I don?t think we would?ve seen him again if our friend hadn?t called him. Now if we hadn?t paid him 100%, we would?ve fired him 2 months ago. But as he had all the money, we couldn?t hire anyone else to finish.

For a while we did feel bad that he was losing money on or project. But when he was taking our money and then not showing up and responding to our calls & texts, our sympathy went away. We don?t know how he stays in business the way he breaches contracts without even caring.

Five days after moving into my new house the sewer backed up through the toilet raining down into the basement. In a panic I called my mother and she recommended Just-In-Time. I called and Robert was on his way to pick up parts for another job but knew what was probably my problem and was near my house. He stopped by to release the clean-out drain outside the house which at least stopped it from coming in, but said he would have to come back later to verify. Once it was determined I needed new pipe he gave me a reasonable quote, called in for utility marking and fixed it the day it was marked. Great job!

We have been renovating/remodeling homes for resale for over 15 years. We have had a varying degree of success with many different plumbers over the years. Yet, we have never found a plumber as honest, dedicated, knowledgeable, and conscientious as Robert Rodriguez of Just-N-Time Plumbing. While others may give lip service to providing good service and customer satisfaction while leaving you with a big bill and a grand exit. We just returned from vacation and started doing laundry etc., only to find the leaks (Sunday). I tried calling a few plumbers and only got their answering machine. Looked up Angie's List to find Just-N-Time and got Mr. Rodriguez on the phone and explained that our water was shut off due to our leaks. He said he'd be over ASAP. He examined the area's and quickly got to work having all the supplies he needed on hand made the job go quickly. During the work he educated me on proper house maintenance and suggested a few tips. Upon completion he discussed the work and we settled the bill. Mr. Rodriguez is honest and knows his job; he treated my problem with a sense of urgency that put me to ease.

Robert is very puntucal and fair. We agreed on a price up front based on what was needed. Robert completed the work as agreed and within one hours time. He is very friendly and fair. Stands behind all his work.
