We are now 13 months into what Jeff (owner) estimated as a 3-4 month project. They keep sending people out to continue to do small jobs which are often left uncompleted due to ordering wrong parts or other preventable issues. Meanwhile the big issue of the fact that the windows in our sunroom are non functional is not being addressed. These windows went in in February and have not worked right yet. Jeff will not give us answers as to when or how they will get fixed. Do not use this contractor, I met with previous clients and know he used to do a good job but he is not doing a good job now. Sub contractors he has sent out have complained to us about him and I think he is losing his credibility in the industry, he has definitely lost all credibility with us.

It is still going. We are at 13 months on a contract he estimated at 3-4 months. He has screwed up over and over again. From not knowing he needed to get a survey done and charging me an extra $1200 at the start of the project for the surevy to mismanaging the ordering of windows, garage doors, trim pieces, etc. To the actual work just being horrible quality. One of the reasons that this project is dragging on is because they installed my windows wrong and keep dragging their feet on fixing them. The gap between the windows was big enough that last spring we had bees building nests in them. Yes last srping, the windows went in in February and it is now December and they are still not fixed. I have been writing to him trying to get answers about when he will finish this job and he will not respond. They keep sending someone out every couple of weeks to do tiny projects which often are left uncompleted or need to be redone, the site manager will respond as to the staus of those projects but Jeff will not respond about the big picture.

I was looking for a contractor for a relatively small job - remove part of the wall between two bedrooms and install a barn door. Due to size of the job, I figured it would be hard to get someone good, and then get it done on time. Jeff proved me wrong. Jeff is super detailed beginning at the quote phase. He walks you through what he is going to do. Great communicator about status and what he is doing. He has his team (Dave and Carlos) started when they said they were going to start, and finished two weeks earlier than when I needed it done. They kept the place clean, respected the property, and sent in a cleaning company to finish the job. Very good quality work as well. I will highly recommend JN.

My advice having hired JN Residential- PROCEED WITH CAUTION My wife and I hired JN Residential last fall to complete a small basement project which included finishing two rooms and a bath totaling 700sf. We chose this company, who was not the low bidder, based on the Owner’s assurances of quality, professionalism, customer service and communication and paid over $56,000 The first 4 weeks of the project went smoothly and the last 4 months were filled with utter frustration and disappointment for my wife and I. Here are just a few of the specific issues we experienced: 1. It took 4 weeks to finish our project to punch list stage and another 16 weeks to complete a one page list of less than 10 items. 2. Jeff the Owner showed little to no interest in our project. We saw him 3-4 times in almost six months and most of those were him collecting a check. 3. Brett (JNs Best Project Manager according to Jeff) would go weeks at a time with no work or communication and many of our messages during the project we’re never returned. Much of his personal work had to be redone or completed by others during the project. 4. At punch list, we had several cable and phone jacks not working, one of which I was told I needed to hire someone to come fix and another my wife literally had to fix herself. Both of these are unacceptable when you pay over $56k to finish a couple rooms. 5. I emailed the Owner in November listing a number of quality and service issues and asked for his personal involvement. We didn’t see or hear from him until the end of February when he showed up unannounced to pick up a final check. When he finally did show up, we shared our frustration and concerns and he acknowledged our project “didn’t go well”. His solution.....knock off $300 for the out of pocket expense we incurred to complete the project and repair their faulty work. Disappointed and Frustrated, I wouldn’t hire these guys to paint my mailbox right now!

My husband and I had been thinking of remodeling our kitchen for a couple of years, and wanted to get estimates just to see where we stood cost wise. We contacted 3 different contractors which included JN Residential. Jeff came by our house promptly and was aptly prepared with background information on his company, along with references. Once we went over what I was envisioning for my kitchen, he was very direct on what would/wouldn't work for the space, which I appreciated. He even sketched out a plan while he was giving the estimate and made suggestions along the way. That sold me on signing on with his company for the remodel, and I was only looking for estimates at that point! As far as the remodel itself was concerned, he is very detailed in his work and quick to respond if there are issues. His staff all arrived on time and kept the area clean as possible. My remodel was completed in 7 weeks thanks to his Project Manager who stayed on top of things. Once everything was completed, it turned out beautiful. I have no regrets on the remodel and I will continue to use him for future updates to my home.

It went well. The timeline was tight but Jeff completed the project on time. There was a lot of running around selecting plumbing, lighting, tile and countertops but we kept up with Jeff's directions and everything went smoothly.

Before hiring Jeff, I had interviewed 4 other companies.
Jeff was great. He is a full service, end to end contractor. He really listened to what we wanted and executed to our satisfaction. He drove us around to the different suppliers to allow us direct access to samples and prices.
Jeff coordinated the entire job and worked to minimize the impact from the kitchen remodeling. The entire remodel was completed within 6 weeks, which impressed us.
The workmanship of the services rendered was top notch.
Overall, I would highly recommend J.N. Residential. His professionalism in his industry is by far the best I have seen.
