The quality of the work was decent, but there are various places where the crew failed to pay attention to details. In several locations they cut light holes too large, and as a result you can see the hole with the lights installed. In other occasions the crew cut wiring in wire boxes when cutting drywall holes, requiring me to fix them. Notwithstanding these issues, the quality was acceptable. The problems with Cherokee Drywall were not the quality of work, however there is room for improvement, but instead the problems with Cherokee work crews. There are two major problems with their crews: The first issue is communication. None of the crews have English speakers, and it took multiple times telling the crew, or at least attempting to tell the crew, to fix items, but they did not understand. It finally took calls to management at the office to get the problems resolved. The second issue and the single biggest one is the work crews taking things. Upon the completion of the first mudding and sanding, I then spent a weekend painting the walls with primer. I did not have any other contractors in my home besides Cherokee. When I went to use my painting mask I found the drywall crew had opened the brand new masks I had bought for the job and had used them. At first I was irritated, and I then asked the managers to replace them, which they did. I also found that the work crews had taken insulation out of my storage room walls to stuff the vents to keep the dust out. I wasn?t happy that they had not used their own materials, and I asked managers to replace the insulation, which they did. The following week the work crews came and did touch ups and finished the drywall job. Later that weekend I went to grab my painting tape, that was with the masks, and found the crew had also taken two rolls of tape. It wasn?t a big deal, but at approx. $7 per roll, it was irritating. I left an irritated voicemail to management. Later that Saturday I went to use my stapler and found that it was also missing. I looked everywhere, and given there were no other people in my basement I could only conclude that the drywall crew had again taken something. After the previous string of problems and missing items, I was pretty upset, so I called and left, admittedly, a very unprofessional message on the manager?s voicemail out of anger and frustration. The angry voicemail I left finally got me a call back from the managers on a Saturday. He was instantly defensive and said his crew had never been caught stealing, and that while he would replace the tape and stapler, he would not admit his crew did anything wrong. He was rightlfully defensive because I had left a pretty nasty voicemail, but I?d had enough with the missing materials, removed insulation, and stolen tools. I apologized for my irate message, and we called it even. Since then I have not pursued any reconciliation with the company because I had lost all confidence in the company.
