This man did an extremely poor job, failed to show up when he said he would, delayed construction because of his failure to show up despite many phone calls to him. When we finally moved in, the lights, music and phone were a source of frustration in that they didn't work properly and Mr. Hoage would be extremely slow to return phone calls and then fail to show up to make corrections when he said he would be there. Many times, he would come to correct something and then more would be wrong after he left. It was as if he really didn't know how to work his product. His employee turnover was tremendous and one even confided in me that Bernard did not know what he was doing and therefore couldn't know who to hire. This employee was leaving out of frustration for the work ethics and quality of work that this company performed. For two years after construction, we tried to work with Mr. Hoage to get resolution. He was evasive and evidently had no problem with the poor work product. When we finally resorted to having to threaten to sue, he produced to us a bill for roughly what he knew he would be sued for. This "bill" was for work supposedly done two years prior. When I asked him why he would produce a bill that was two years old and never mention it to us or send it to us in those two years, he couldn't respond. It looked to me that he was doing this as a defense to being sued. He seemed rather practiced at it which made me know we were not the first to have to threaten him. He also refused to give us the program for our system, which we paid for and was our property. This program was worth approximately $5000.00. This is theft. When we finally interviewed other low voltage companies to repair the system, they both knew of him and said that they had done quite a bit of business repairing the messes that Mr. Hoage had made. He has a bad reputation in the business. Beware of this man.
