"We appreciate and act on all customer input and complaints, and appreciate the opportunity to respond. The member contacted us on August 6, 2010 about a possible leak under her driveway and we were able to send a technician to her home the same day. The plumbing company who referred the member to us is a very reputable firm which we do a lot of work for and is a prime referral source. They always contact us with issues or concerns, but on this job they did not reach out with any negative comment or complaint. Our technician indeed marked a spot in the driveway using black chalk, as the meter box was located in the concrete driveway of the townhome. According to the technician's extensive notes from the job, the pipe (where the water line leak was later located) was made of blue poly and the PRV was faulty. These circumstances combined may have contributed to less than ideal conditions for "exact leak pinpointing." The area marked was within five feet from the actual leak location, which did narrow the search for the second plumber that was later called by the member to repair the job. We billed the member $375, which the menber paid (with no objection or complaint) and not the $1,200 listed as an approximate cost in the complaint."
