His troubleshooting ensured that my new water heater's warranty would not be voided by having too much pressure exerted onto it, and it also reduced the overall strain on my home's plumbing. I had over 120 psi of pressure measured at an outside spigot. Plus, he discounted the installation on the new reducing valve. He said he wants to be my plumber from now on- he most likely will be.
Tech that showed up on May 9th (not Jason) had only worked for Precision Plumbing for three weeks and his first response was to measure to replace entire water main from meter to house (over 140 ft), with no testing to try to find leak. He explained it would be too hard to find due to small amount leaking. To avoid possible worsening leaking I agreed to replace water main to house. After digging/boring under driveway and hooking up pipe under my house, Jason (business owner) arrived and requested full payment since only final pressure and leak tests were still required. My biggest mistake was writing a check ($2,375) at that point, as Jason cashed it that afternoon. I had to leave so tech called me later to say after pressurizing new water main, no water inside house, probably due to other problems in old pipes to which he just connected the new feed line, and he would return the next day to measure additional pipes in crawlspace that needed to be replaced. Next morning I climbed under house and found out the hook-up was to the wrong pipe (old, dead-end pipe, not to the water main of house). Later that day same tech arrived and went under house and identified another pipe which he said hooked up to copper pipes, so it must be the house main. Tech he cut pipe and hooked the new feed line into the old pipe. When pressurized water started pouring into crawlspace, because tech had again hooked up water main to wrong pipe - HVAC condensation drain line - forcing water into HVAC condensation pan. I climbed around under the house and pointed out another pipe that appeared to be the water main. Tech could not get to that location, due to his size (approximately 300 lbs) and HVAC ducting, and was why (apparently) he couldn't see the pipe in his earlier examination. He then stated he THOUGHT the pipe he cut earlier went to the copper piping of the house, but admitted he couldn't really see that, so he just assumed it. I was able to disconnect HVAC ducting and climb over other ducting to reach the third pipe, and tech talked ME through cutting pipe, and connecting new feed line, but tech had to leave before glue set up, so pipe not pressured/tested beyond house cut-off in crawlspace. Based on all these problems I called Jason and told him I did NOT want the tech he had sent to do work to come back. While waiting another 2 days for Jason to arrange to have pipes pressurized and tested, the city notified me that water was leaking heavily at my side of meter. Inspection found new main line not properly supported prior to burying it at meter, and someone stepping on ground above it compressed earth enough to crack the new pipe at meter connection. Same tech that I requested NOT come back arrived to pressurize house at crawlspace cut-ff and inspect for leaks (with no tools or fittings to fix problems), and then informed me that this new break at the meter wasn't his fault and I would have to pay more to have this break (due to improper burying in my opinion) repaired even though my contract states all lines would be leak free with 10 year warranty. I refused to pay more and tech left. After 4 days, with no further response to my repeated calls (all calls from my phone now go directly to Precision Plumbing voice-mail), house has now been without water for over a week, and no-one from Precision Plumbing will return my calls. WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! Looks like legal action may be required.
