Holy Smokes Chimney Service

We found what was needed to fix the chimney we were not able to afford it. But He said that if we gave him the trailer he would provided a discount. And we gave him the trailer and TOLD him to register the trailer. But he Never did. We trust him. And Next we received from the state of Georgia for a toying violation until March 2023. We sent the bookkeeper all the copies of the towing violation. HE WERE REALLY UNHAPPY! He did a good job for our chimney But that doesn't mean He treat his customer like these! We told Him to stop Driving it. But He keeps riding it! It was really Bad! You already cost us 125 hundreds dollar for this. AND I'M STILL WAITING FOR THE HUNDRED DOLLARS CHARGE FROM YOU THAT WE PAY REIMBURSE! The last towing violation came in recently from the state of Georgia collection agency and we have to pay that to protect our credit.

This has been a process of almost 2 years and I have waited until now to leave a negative review. My husband and I purchased a complete gut job of a home in July of 2021. The first thing on our list to fix was our beautiful brick fireplace on our main floor and basement floor. We designed the entire layout of our main floor around this fireplace in hopes that it would be a gathering place for our friends and family for years to come. We planned to use our fireplace as a big part of heating our home during the winter months. We were willing to take a very large part of our budget and make sure that this was in perfect working order. Waylon was contracted to get it in complete working order. Waylon came out and said that he completed the work and that we were good to go to use our fireplace without any issues. When the work was completed it was still summertime and extremely hot, so we took him at his word and paid him the entire invoice of $10,000. I normally wouldn't list out prices on a review, but that is a huge investment for my family. Waylon was great to work with... initially. Once we finally were able to move into the home in December we were so excited to use our fireplace. We got our first big fire going on Christmas Eve and were so disappointed because the amount of smoke that was coming into our house was completely unacceptable. We at the time had a newborn daughter and I didn't feel comfortable burning in the fireplace because of all the smoke. We waited until the new year and started trying to get a hold of Waylon, only to find out that he had changed all his numbers. After a lot of digging we were able to find a personal number for him that he or his wife had reached out to us on and finally were able to get in touch with him. This is getting long, so I will break it down to this... Waylon was almost impossible to get to come back out. He finally came and inspected the fireplace in July of 2022 and promised that he would be in touch with my husband to get the fireplace in working order. We never heard anything back, and after reaching out to him several times he came back in November and worked on the fireplace again. He said that there were parts that he needed to order to complete it, but we were good to go to burn for the upcoming holidays. Again, we had to reach out to him multiple times to find out when he was going to come back and finish the work. We were left for 3 months without a flue on our fireplace. Finally in March he came back out and said that the work was completed. We have had one fire since. The smoke was finally not an issue, but we were left with a terrible lingering smell of smoke for weeks after the last fire. My husband climbed up to inspect for himself and found that the vent cap at the top was not secured or screwed down at all. Air was still drafting through even though our flue was closed on the inside causing the awful smell. We reached out to Waylon and were basically told that he wasn't liable for anything because the work was originally done from a company that is no longer in business. He said that he gave us all kinds of freebies along the way and that he doesn't owe us anything. I'm not sure what freebies he gave us. We contracted him at a rate of $10,000 to get both fireplaces in working order and they're still not. In the grand scheme of this nightmare, this seems so small to even mention, but when he and his crew would show up to do work they were never here at the time they said they would be, they always left a mess (dirty/ smudged fingerprints on our brand new white paint), damaged the paint on the brick of the fire place, left trash in our yard... Waylon, we are very disappointed in the work that was done. We talked faith with you many times and tried to give you many chances to complete the work that you said you would. I would love nothing more than to remove this poor review if you would come finish. $10,000 is a huge amount of money for our family that we were glad to pay to a small business to have a working fireplace, but that hasn't panned out.

When it rains on the inside of your fireplace, you have a problem. My chimney crown had several cracks that needed to be sealed. I called a few chimney repair companies and in the end decided to go with Holy Smokes Chimney Service. I found the owner, Waylon, an honest and forthright person who seemed to really care about my situation. He came to my home and gave me a quote the day I called him, and then proceeded to tell me he was going to put a tarp over my chimney with no pressure to use his services while I investigated other companies. I was impressed with that and his overall knowledge and experience. Waylon was back with his assistant within two weeks to clean and waterproof the bricks, seal the crown, and install a new chimney cap. They also blew the leaves off the roof, walks, and driveway. What a relief to finally get this done, and at a fair price. I couldn’t be more pleased with Holy Smokes Chimney Service, and highly recommend them. Thank you Waylon!

The job went very well! Waylon called Ahead to tell me What time he would arrive. He was very punctual and very polite! He examined the Chimmney, gave an explanation of the repairs that were needed and gave us a quote. We agreed on the quote and he was able to do the work and complete it while he was here. He did a great job and cleaned up behind himself. I would use his services again if needed.

Waylon is a professional and an excellent communicator. I called him up to request a fireplace inspection and he returned my call right away. Upon his arrival he and his partner got right to work, cleaning and making an analysis of what my fireplace needed to be in great working order. Unfortunately there was a small problem with the fireplace as it would not start immediately as it should. It took several attempts to make it start and Waylon explained the problem thoroughly. Waylon stated the old firebox would still work. I just had to make several attempts to start it. Solution: A new firebox is being ordered to make starting the fireplace easy. Waylon will install the firebox as well. I highly recommend Holy Smokes Chimney Service. Grade A on service and communication.

Waylon was absolutely amazing. He came out the very next day we requested a quote and inspected our chimney. We ended up having him clean the chimney, install a new rain pan, and replace our cracked back wall panel. Everything looks amazing! He kept our living room very clean while working and was very knowledgeable and respectful. We would 100% recommend him and his company to anyone. We are completely satisfied with the work he did!

Waylon did an excellent job on our sweep and repair. He explained everything along the way to insure we understood. We explained to him that we have a brand new grandbaby coming to town and she gets into everything, Waylon made sure he let us know what we could do to make things absolutely safe fore her. first visit chimney swept, issues identified. Less than a week later returned for correction of problems, took all afternoon but very satisfied with results. Really liked the owner and main technician, Waylon, he called us right away after we posted on Angie's List. Came right out and was so knowledgeable and professional, very concerned about our satisfaction and providing only what we needed and at a fair price. Not often I spend this much and feel like it was worth every penney. Our experience was so positive that we are now Angie's List addicts, will not hesitate to use them the next time I need home repairs.

First we heard weird noises... things going bump in the night... There had been quite a bit of rain lately and it was later determined even if the noises were initially animals, we'd graduated to a full on leak. I'm talking rain in the fireplace. Talk about stressed! Waylon showed up like a calm chimney super hero with no agenda but setting things right and gaining a customer for life. The initial estimate and evaluation happened immediately and he didn't hang any initial fees over our heads. It was simple and quick. Every other company had difficult schedules, expensive evaluations, complicated and confusing fee structures... Not Holy Smokes! Nope. They just got to work and fixed it. We spoke over the weekend and had a new pan installed before Tuesday afternoon. Why can't everyone work like Waylon? I guess it's because there aren't that many chimney super heroes out there.
