Impact windows are absolutely worth the money if you live in an area prone to hurricanes. Though expensive, impact windows are built to withstand hurricane winds up to 200 mph and theoretically won’t break even if flying debris, such as mailboxes and lawn chairs, is smacked against the glass. If your window well fills with water, first remove the water as soon as weather conditions allow, using a pump or wet/dry vacuum. If water has seeped into your basement, you may need to call a professional to assess the damage. Once the water has been pumped out of the well, check the drainage at the bottom of the well and clear out any blockages.

Generally speaking, you should clean your windows and any associated fixtures and treatments every six months. Otherwise, clean them as needed to keep everything running smoothly. If you live in a part of the country with especially hard water, you may have to clean them three or four times per year, and the same goes for areas where insects, pollen, dirt, and other debris can soil your windows and potentially cause issues with the moving parts.

Windows with muntins are slightly more expensive because you’re paying for more material, but the cost shouldn't be that much higher since most muntins are fake on modern windows. You’re looking at a cost between $25 and $100 more per window for muntins, depending on the type. The only exception is if you want custom muntins to match your home style or meet your personal preference. Most manufacturers will charge more for these as they can’t mass-produce them. Windows with true muntins are rare, and they’re much more expensive upfront and over time if you ever need individual glass replacement.
