Todd was on time, and he and his trainee were extremely professional. Everything we asked them to do to protect the roof and document the job, were already part of their routine. I don't think we have ever had a crew here that was as efficient and professional as they are. The flues did not require cleaning at this time, but TnT Quality Services will definitely get the job when required. Their quote for the multi-flue cap was in the range we had expected. I don't doubt that once they have the custom built cap and install it, we will be just as pleased, but we will do another review once the job is completed. We are very pleased with the end result of Todd's work. See the pictures of the caps poorly installed by another contractor and that beautiful cap installed by Todd.

They did a good job. wood heater installed 30 years ago was not up to code and a fire danger. After inspection I removed heater that day. If not for them I could have burnt my home down not knowing that.

When originally asking about the service the gentleman on the phone made it seem like they would do a thorough inspection for safety and functionality of the fireplace. They cancelled the original appointment an hour before it was to start due to car trouble. On the rescheduled date, a gentleman named James came to the house, looked up the chimney and that was about the extent of his inspection. He told us we didn't have flue caps and insisted we buy them without any information about the product or its purpose/specs. When asked about the product he seemed annoyed and explained them briefly. We did end up purchasing them and he installed them quickly and the entire visit was less than 30 minutes. The next week we started a fire in our now inspected fire place and it smoked up the whole house. I called the company and the gentleman on the phone stated "just order a smoke guard off amazon, your fireplace is just too big." First of all, could they not have taken measurements and told me that when they came for the inspection? I just paid your guy $180 to look into the fireplace and offer me no information or assistance and leave within 30 minutes? Secondly, I get on amazon.com and look at these and there are so many different sizes and options, some guidance from the "professional" that I just hired would have been nice. I would not hire them again or recommend them to anyone. You can glance up your own chimney and guess if it will be functioning or not for FREE!

The guys were early and very professional - they explained what they were going to do, inspected my chimneys and made recommendations on the waterproofing and repair and installing the flue caps, which they didn't push on me but I decided to go ahead and have done while they were here. There was no mess and they were very efficient, and all the work was done in less than two hours.  They took pictures of my chimney to show me the things they were recommending, and showed me the after pictures so I didn't need to climb on my own roof.

Thomas Roach, the Chimney Sweep, arrived promptly at the scheduled 9:00am time and quickly inspected my repairs to the chimney.  We concluded that his waterproofing process would not be required.  He then inspected the chimney and concluded it needed to be cleaned.  He then called Todd Lewis and said that he would not be staying at our job as long as expected, allowing another job to be inserted in his schedule.  Thomas explained what he was going to do, start at the chimney top and then vacuum from the hearth.  He erected his ladder and in the process noted several other areas where tuck pointing would be needed which I attended to.  I appreciated his attention to detail.  He spread his drop cloths and quickly but efficiently cleaned the chimney.
At the conclusion of the work, he offered me his bucket of creosote to use in the garden.  I added it to our compost pile.  He also observed several other roof related problems, flashing and siding, that were unrelated to his profession.  I appreciated this consulting.  The service report was filled out completely, documented that he had removed 1 gallon of creosote.  Thomas included Todd Lewis's business card and I asked about the insert manufacturer names cited.  He was quick to explain the quality and pricing levels.
Positives: Thomas was on time, did not dawdle, communicated well, helpful in pointing out problems and left no doubts about his competence.
Improvement Recommendations: Only acceptable payment methods were cash or check.  As easy as cellphone apps can now be used to accept credit/debit cards, I would recommend this means of payment be added.

TNT is a two person operation so contacting them may take several tries.  Todd did return my call initial, which I missed, but I was able to reach him later.  I explained what services I was looking for and he quoted a price for each.
Thomas, the individual providing the service, called to see if arriving early was suitable.  He was knowledgeable, professional, and performed the work in a quick, efficient manner.  We had agreed on chimney cleaning and flashing guard.  Thomas inspected the chimney, told me it had a little buildup but did not really need cleaning.  Also, the seal around the flashing appeared to be in good condition - no apparent need there either - and suggested I pay for the chimney inspection and that would close the transaction.  I had the chimney cleaned anyway (wife's request to me); Thomas could have just as easily not said anything and performed both services, or tried to move me up to a higher priced service.  He made sure I knew all of the associated prices before he started work.
Thomas had a later appoint on a very tight schedule and offered to come back at another time to complete the flashing guard application.  I decided to skip the flashing guard altogether - I'd call later if needed.  We left it at if we do decide to have flashing guard applied, call them and they will come back and do the job at a discount.

1st time service tech came out, he installed chimney cap and cleaned out the chimney. He was to also check flashing and identify (if possible) where the water was coming in from. He said flashing was fine and if leak continued, to call a roofer. Less then a month later, we had a severe water leak. So much so that it was coming out of 2 spots on our first floor. We called the owner and he sent out the same tech and another tech. This time they both checked everything again and identified a few spots that could be the source. They repaired those spots and we have not had a leak since. They did not charge for the 2nd service call, due to the error of the first service call, they only charged for materials. We were very satisfied with the responsiveness of the company when the leak continued and both techs were professional and thorough when they came back out.

I have 2 working chimneys out of 4. One other is sealed and the other is a vent for the HVAC system. He checked all 4 - told me the one used for a vent for the HVAC needed a liner and had it so it was ok. One working chimney he inspected did not need cleaning but would need to repair the broken brick around the top and he gave me an estimate of $500 to replace brick and the chimney cap. The other chimney had a bunch of debris in it - that was the only one he cleaned and replaced the ill-fitting chimney cap which allowed critters to nest in the chimney. Spent over 1 hour scrubbing out the chimney - very neat and clean and appropriately covered all the furniture. Left the area very clean and put all the moved furniture back in place.Told me the brick work on the chimney could wait until later in the year and I said I would call him later in the spring.

Todd was quick to respond to my estimate request when I found his email on Angie's List.  He was booked pretty far out but gave me a few dates/times to choose from.  A few days before our appointment  I realized that we really needed an earlier time if possible.  Todd offered to call a few other customers to see if someone would swap times with us.  I was impressed that he took the time to do that!
Todd and another gentleman arrived on time, were very professional and thorough.  He explained what they were going to do.  They were respectful of our home and there was zero mess...  It took about an hour to clean.  They went up on our 2 story roof and did a full inspection.  When complete he gave us all the details, educated us on a few things...  but there was nothing alarming or that needed to be done immediately.  Just maintenance type things and that it might be a good idea to do a waterproof treatment.  We will probably call him back in the spring - when his schedule slows down - to do that.  He made us aware of a few cracks but assured us that they were nothing to worry about but keep an eye on.
We would surely use TnT again and highly recommend them...  I found them to be high in integrity which is hard to come by these days!

The sweeps arrived on time and conducted themselves in a professional and polite manner.  After performing a visual inspection of the inside of our house, they were able to give us an estimate about the history of our fireplace and chimney (we later confirmed this history by consulting with previous owner, and surprisingly everything they brought up was true).

We took a trip up to the roof where the inspection continued and where they continued to give advice and insight as to standard chimney designs and practices.  What I respected the most in how they gave advice was how forthcoming they were in what was possible for us to do as homeowners versus what might be a better idea to contract out.  They were knowledgeable about general prices at hardware stores (later confirmed correct) and about estimates for work.  I really felt that this level of honesty reflected a high level of ethics and trustworthiness.

After concluding the inspection, we gave the OK for them to move forward with the cleaning.  They were very considerate about the interior of our home and took multiple measures to prevent ash, creosote, and other debris from entering our living areas.  The fellow who did the sweeping and cleaning of the bottom of the fireplace did a very commendable job (our fireplace was very dirty), and I could tell afterwards that he really spent the extra time and effort to make sure they left our fireplace safe and in working order.

When the cleaning was complete we accepted their offer to "test" our fireplace (we're new homeowners and had not done so before), and it was a really great feeling to know not only that our fireplace worked but that it was safe to operate.  Additionally, might I add, the fire started faster than nearly any fire I've seen.  Truly professionals in the chimney business!

I would not hesitate to call TnT Quality Services again, no matter if I'm getting a standard cleaning or if I'm getting more serious flue work.  If only all contractors were as honest, reliable, knowledgeable, and trustworthy as these folks.

Friendly professional service. Todd & his associate spent about 5 hours on my home. Provided instruction on the new gas log set ( Real Fyre--His price on the log set was very competitive with others I had called.) Kept the dirt and ash out of my home while cleaning the fireplace. I feel that my fireplace & chimney are safer, cleaner and more efficient with the services and upgrade to gas log set.
