Veterinarians, Animal Boarding Kennels
My dog was in the kennel for 3 weeks. They treat him like a king. He loves it. They have a good price. He absolutely loves the vets. While we has staying at the kennel, they gave him his yearly shots, and all of his care that was needed.

They are really good. They are really friendly with the dogs. We do tend to have to wait for our appointments. Their price is comparable to everybody else.

Animal Grooming
I love Southwood's grooming. The girls there are very sweet and talented. They have a knack for remembering your pet's name and are very loving. My dog is usually scared when going to the groomer and upon pick up, acts shell shocked for the rest of the day. After his appointments at Southwood he is excited and happy. He always looks great when I pick him up and they listen to exactly how you want your pet cut. I have gone to other places in town and always come back to them!

Veterinarians
Just moved to this area need to have a vet for our 5dogs. Took them in for annual examinations. The wait in the reception area was a little long, perhaps 20+ minutes. I am allergic to cats, the examination room was FILLED with cat hair EVERYWHERE. They didn't even sweep between patients. My leashes were so covered in cat hair that I had to leave them outside hanging on the fence to let the wind and rain clean them off. The veterarian was professional and friendly. My largest complaint was their price structure. I have 5 dogs for heavens sake. Other vets have given us a group discount of at least 25% when we bring in more than 3 pets. Not these folks or if they did, they didn't tell me.

Veterinarians
Getting the appointment was easy - they fit me in the day after I called. When I came for my appointment, the receptionist chatted on the phone for several minutes while I waited to check in. The rest of my waiting room experience was confusing. The receptionist dealt with several different clients at the same time while I waited. She never told me or anyone else what she was doing, where she was going, or why. I waited several minutes for my appointment. I was unsatisfied with the communication skills of the rest of the entire staff in the office. I hardly knew what they were doing most of the time. The veterinarian, Dr. Nicholson, was no exception. She seemed rushed, and she "told" me what she was doing instead of consulting me. She prescribed the appropriate medications for my cat after the examination and gave him a combination vaccine. (I did not know at the time that many vets will not vaccinate a cat when he is sick. This makes me very uncomfortable with taking my cat back to her.) She did not slow down to talk to me about the medications she prescribed my cat, the best ways to administer them, or the side effects I might notice. When they were done, I hardly even knew the appointment was over. I wandered back into the waiting room and paid my bill. When I got home, I realized the antibiotic prescription I have does not match the amount of drug she gave me. I also had to call the shelter where I adopted my cat to find out more information about what they did for my cat in that office. I am never going back to this vet.
