They were absolutely fabulous! We had to wait about 30 days to get started, due to a rainy summer, but once they got started, the entire install was completed within 2-3 weeks. Jake and his crew were at my house everyday by 7am and gave me a breakdown of the work that would be completed each day. It was amazing to watch the progress of a pool installation. Although it took 2-3 weeks to complete, the crew completed the install in 8 work days.
We chose the ozone pool which uses fewer chemicals than a standard or saltwater pool. The total cost included a much wider deck than Midstate normally provides (their standard end deck is 8 ft and we requested 16 ft), concrete steps as opposed to plastic, a swim out ledge, diving board and colored quikcrete decking that stays cool in the heat.
After the pool was built, Midtstate was required to grade the backyard, but we were not happy with the amount of dirt that was left behind. They came out and removed the excess dirt at no extra cost. This was a huge job as they ended up removing over 10 dump trucks full.
About one year after the pool was built, we had a leak with our pool equipment that required replacement of a major component. I called Jake and the problem was immediately corrected, at no cost to me.
My only complaint was in the design process. I was expecting someone to sit down with me and help me make decisions about our choices, maybe even providing a computerized graphic. That didn't happen. It was pretty much left up to me to design and layout the pool and then tell them what I wanted.
If you decide to install a pool, be ready for some major surprises. Your yard will look like a bomb was dropped on it, because you have dump trucks driving through your entire yard. We had very little grass left, once the pool was completed and it took us around 6-8 months to get the yard back in order. Also, the weight of the concrete trucks WILL crack your driveway. We knew this from the get go, so we were happy that our driveway only had minor damage. I would definitely recommend Midstate pools.
If we had any problems with it they came out right away and fixed it.
The crew came out and in the first day (Saturday) were able to refurbish the steps, remove the old liner and put in the new one. After allowing the steps to cure for 48hrs and the pool to partially fill, the rest of the work was completed on Monday. We met with Michele the following week to settle the bill and get lessons on the salt system and the robotic cleaner.
This company has been in business for a very long time and the workers at my house had been with Mid State for many, many years. They really knew what they were doing--a good thing because we are novices when it comes to pools--and made us feel very confident that we had chosen the right company.
I will be using Mid State Pools and Spas for all my pool needs.
