Felt confident of their ability and understanding of what needed to be done when we left. They understood our deadline and worked to meet it. My husband felt great in his suit that really fit him.

When I returned for the items, the slacks were hanging on a plastic hanger that was deeply bowed, causing the slacks to be wrinkled (i.e., requiring professional pressing). The suit jacket hung on a woman's dress hanger, which caused the shoulder pads to droop over the edges, exacerbating the "hanger hump" I try to avoid in my suits' shoulder pads. The jacket was tailored incorrectly, which made the appearance lumpy, the fit way too tight in the lats and shoulders and the liner was still showing below the fabric in back (a problem caused by a sub-par cleaners that I'd asked Irene's to fix). They promised a quick fix, so I returned today to inspect the jacket. It was significantly worse. Irene's admitted defeat and suggested I visit Kim's Alterations. I did not pay for the jacket alterations (with Irene's complete concurrence).
Response from IRENE'S CUSTOM TAILORS
"We tried to satisfy this gentleman as best we could, but no matter what we did, he was not happy. He is a rare find in that he was hardcore all the way. The gentlemen was not nice, in fact rather mean. We gave up on him and sent him somewhere else. We generally do terrific work and have a very small error margin. We have been visited by over 50 counties in Georgia all with great success. We are always recommended by many customers who are very happy and satisfied. The gentlemen's jacket was not anything like he made it sound. I am glad that he found someone else who pleases him. One person doesn't reck your business because sometimes you just can't please some people. Thanks, Sharon Matsie for Irene's Custom Tailors"

My daughter (my daughter in tears) and I went to Irene's and talked to Linda and Sharon and explained what had happened and we discussed what we would do about the hem and they would repair the dress to where the zipper wouldn't bow in. Although the dress was shorter in the front and was hemmed longer to the back (no choice but to do it that way because of what the other lady did) it looked like it was made that way and they fixed the zipper! We were very happy and will go back again for years to come!

I paid about $14 per shirt and a couple hundred dollars for the rest of the work ($300 total). When I brought in the garments, the lady who helped me (Linda, I believe) pinned each piece until we were both satisfied with the look. She was fast, friendly, and good.
When I went to pick up the shirts, however, they had all been taken in at the bust as well as the waist. It was like the seamstress just took out the pins and sewed in a straight line. Linda did her best to let out as much of the remaining fabric as possible, and had them re-sewn free of charge, but enough material had been removed that some were still too small in the bust and some barely fit. Most of these were brand new shirts (I have trouble finding button up shirts that fit in the waist without being too tight in the bust so I figured I could buy some that were big in the waist and have them tailored) and I can't even fully button some of them.
The rest of the work was satisfactory and I was very pleased with the attention and help and great attitude I received. I don't have much experience with tailors, but everyone I talked to was shocked by how much I paid (especially the $14 to have one shirt taken in at the side seams only).
If they hadn't ruined my shirts, they'd probably get an A in everything except price. I guess maybe the cost is partly to cover the extra work they do to fix their mistakes since they guarantee their work. I would probably go back to Irene's for minor tailoring on old clothes. I'm not sure if I will go back to Irene's again or not if I have a more expensive or irreplaceable piece; I'd hate to have something like a wedding gown ruined by someone cutting off too much fabric!

I needed some work done on my bridal gown, but didn't want to drive up to David's Bridal. I thought I was going to need an extensive amount of work done, but the lady who helped me was able to suggest an alternative that worked perfectly! The dress was finished in 2 weeks and was great when I picked it up. And, for all the work I had done, it was only about $70.

Even though I was embarrassed about asking them to fix my blunder, the lady in the shop was very professional. I explained how I had started and showed her the seams. After looking over the duvet, she showed it to the other seamstress and gave me a price of $35 to repair/finish. She asked several questions to be certain of the work I wanted done. The duvet was ready in one week as promised and it looked -professionally done just what I wanted. I will definitely use their services again.
