We were moving out of our house which we were turning into a rental property. We solicited several bids for painting one room of the home plus general touch-up for dings & picture holes. Mr. Finch has the lowest bid at $410. He showed up promptly & was flexible when the tenants decided they didn't want the room repainted. I told home I would buy the paint he had purchased to redo the room as that wasn't fair to him to eat the cost. He rebid the job- including paint cost - at $320. He quickly set to work. I was extremely busy & couldn't supervise him at all. At early afternoon he came & told me he was done & needed his check. I didn't have one on me at the time so he agreed to stop by in a few hours & pick it up. That was fortunate because after he left I went to inspect his work. The spackling was so-so at best, I could have done a better job myself. He has totally skipped one room, he had spackled the wall holes, but had not returned to sand or paint the walls. In another room, besides the sub-par spackling job, the paint was not touched up thick enough and the white spackle was either showing through or had not been painted at all. When he returned his for his check, I pointed out the deficiencies & he willingly corrected them, however, I had hoped for someone to do a quality job without me breathing down their neck. For 6 hours worth of work, & using my paint to touch up, $320 was a nice payday! Mr. Finch is a nice guy, but you'll have to closely monitor him if you are going to give him a job.

"Our company has been in business for 10 years and we've worked in other states as well as Georgia. Many companies require full payment before starting a job, our company does not require this because we will not leave until the customer is SATISFIED. When it comes to painting, one does not know how many coats of paint a wall requires in order to fully cover, this only applies to older homes. Newly constructed homes are easy to specify the amount of paint it will take. In this case, this home was not new, it had been painted before, Anything more than 2 coats of paint would be double the labor and it would've cost this customer more money and that wasn's an option for this customer. The agreed contract was read and signed by both our company and this customer and if a customer decides to change the AGREED terms, which in this case meant not painting a room, the customer is responsible for the purchased paint only after the contract is signed. We can't do more or less than was is stated in our contract due to liability. Our company does not charge late fees when payments are late. All companies require payment once the job is completed. Also, when work is completed, we do a routine walk through and touch ups are sometimes necessary since wet paint changes as its drying. This customer was not available for a walk through. ALL PAINT DRIES DIFFERENTLY. PAINT CANNOT BE APPIED ON THICK, THE TERM IS 1 COAT OR 2 COATS OF PAINT ANYTHING MORE IS CONSIDERED DOUBLE THE LABOR TO ALL PAINTING COMPANIES AND CHARGES ARE APPLIED WHEN THIS IS NECESSARY. WE WOULD HAVE TO WAIT 24 T0 48 HOURS TO KNOW EXACTLY HOW A COLOR IS GOING TO DRY. Our company did exactly what was stated in the signed contract, limited work was requested by customer in order to keep the cost at its lowest. Our company accomodates to our customer's needs and requests.
