I called him on Oct. 21st and asked if he could start work on the 27th. He agreed to start on that date. On the 27th he showed up with one helper and declared that he would HAVE to leave the job on the 30th to go to Tennessee because he had a ticket. His employees would continue to do some of the work till he got back in ONE WEEK. We were having other work done on our house that had been schedualed according to what Wedincamp told us initially. The other contractors were already schedualed and we were in a hotel so we thought we had no choice but to agree with his new timeline. However after he left my husband asked why he didn't just mail in the fine and his employees said he didn't have a traffic ticket but a PLANE ticket and that he was on a hunting trip! Also he left instructions with his employees NOT to do anything in the living room or kitchen till he got back. Also that Mon. he and his helper were at the house just 2 hours and did nothing more than plan out the job. The next day his crew came and put in a full day but on Wed. they showed up at 10:45 and left at 4pm. On Nov. 5th I called him on his cell and asked what time he would be at work the next day and was told that he was in WYOMING and wasn't coming back till Sat. the 7th! He tried to tell me that he told my husband this but apparently forgot that my husband had him talk to me on the phone and he told me the Tennessee story too. The next day one of his employees called and asked to be let into the house to finish up the living room and as much of the kitchen as they could which was more than he had originally told them to do. Finally on the 10th he shows back up and does everything that can be done before the juice was to be turned off. The electric company did that on the 13th and everything was finished up--finally--only two weeks after he said it would get done! One more thing, he and/or a member of his crew sent us to the hardware store almost every day that they worked for something. I understood about light fixtures as I needed to pick out what I liked but they didn't tell me of ALL the fixtures that would be needed at once. Also why couldn't they go get the four pronged plug for the dryer? They didn't even check on our stove plug till my husband brought it to their attention! If that wasn't enough, he had the audacity to have one of his employees ask us for a partial payment while he was still in Wyoming! Of course, we waited till the job was done before paying him and I still think he should have given us a discount for making to stay in a motel for that extra week.
