In April 2014 when we decided to sell this house I tried numerous times to contact Anthony and he never responded; therefore, I used a lawn care person who came in and cut the yard on a one time basis. He blew off the driveway but didn't put debris on the street as requested and did not spray weed killer on the fence line as requested. It was early spring so even though his details for cleanup weren't good, he did get the initial cut performed and a good amount of the leaves up to the front ditch. I didn't call him back because I still wanted Anthony to come so I kept trying and in early May was able to meet with Anthony and set up a maintenance plan to initially spray fence and keep weeds from growing up. He would mow grass, shape shrubs and keep small shoots cut back from previously cut small tree roots. He would trim around a small patio and steps and the front walk with the weedeater and use blower on patio, front porch, carport and driveway. We initially agreed to $50 a month maintenance as he would cut yard "as needed" and trim shrubs "as needed" and keep yard looking nice. This is a very small yard and the spring clean and the fall clean is usually the most work. The $50 a month was reasonable to me since he would provide service as needed and as he deemed it needed. He said he would make sure it always looked nice.
On May 8, 2014 he invoiced $50 for completing cleanup the first lawn care service person didn't do.
On June 7 we rode over to the house and found the yard clean; however, the fence had not been sprayed and the off-shoots were still sticking up in several places in the back yard. I left messages for Anthony to ask him to remind his people the fence needed attention and the off shoots were getting bigger. He didn't respond so I re-sent the same message on June 9th.
We were billed $50 for yard service for June 6 and we paid this. However, I was confused upon receiving another invoice for June 20th, so, on June 23rd I sent a text to Anthony voicing my concerns along with pictures to evidence the large amount of overgrowth now on the fence and the offshoots that were now small trees and June 25th he texted me back stating he had been on vacation and was behind in his paperwork. He said, "I am sorry for not getting back to you sooner. I will reschedule a service to come out there and get that taken care of for you." He also said he regularly charged $100 for maintenance which is not what we talked about or agreed to. However, after talking with my husband, we decided to go along with the $100 a month but withheld paying the most recent invoice until Anthony sprayed the fence and clipped the now rather large offshoots. It had to get done because of showing the house and were facing having to call someone else if Anthony didn't get it done.
On July 5 we rode by the house and found evidence of the same issues so I sent another text with pictures. I told him I was "reluctant" to pay the last invoice until the fence was sprayed and cleared of overgrowth and the offshoots were clipped. His reply was very unkind and defensive and he venomously suggested for me to go back and get my last guy and don't worry about paying my bill; to just consider it a freebie.
I responded by reminding him the fence and offshoots were evident at our first meeting and part of our agreement and he was the one that had broken our agreement. I also told him I really liked him and was sad he had such a bad attitude. I am over 65 years old and found his terse reply to be extremely disrespectful and arrogant and full of excuses. Sadly, I am finding this behavior is becoming common among his peer group!
He listed everything his regular service included; however, we were on a maintenance agreement "as needed" understanding at $50 per month, not $50 per cut as is his regular service. He said cutting stumps and clearing fences were extra services and that he was just being nice and doing it for me anyway! I didn't respond back.
I believe Anthony forgot what I had requested he have done at my home on an "as needed" basis due to my needing the yard to look nice while the realtor was showing it.. He sent two men to cut the yard as if under regular contract and not maintenance since he started out with a clean and freshly cut yard with shaped shrubs and with a clean fence line with very small offshoots just barely sticking up. I trusted this young man to take care of my yard. It isn't because "he just couldn't please me". I believe it was because he didn't pay attention to the detail of my request and never made it important to his crew; thus, it never got done!
He made this all about me because of my trying to get him to do what he was suppose to do! He hasn't given me a freebie by forgiving my last bill. I don't owe him anything beyond what he was already paid because I now have to pay someone else to do what he agreed to do in the first place! I really wanted this to work out!
Same day service when called!!! Anthony walked around the perimeter and listened to our needs....excellent service, professional demeanor, and quickly got job done.
He and his team mowed the grass, weedeated, trimmed all hedges, and used blower for cleanup. Some particles blew into the pool, he took the time to clean out the debris.....thank you!
We are so impressed we quickly set up a monthly, routine schedule until fall arrives!
Our number one choice!!!! Thanks Anthony, you are greatly appreciated and highly recommended.
