They arrived exactly on time, ready to work. Came in with their tools in hand so they didn't have to go back to their truck. Very friendly, courteous and knowledgeable. They replaced the light and corrected the wiring to it which was also causing my microwave to trip breaker. Even went above and beyond and checked the panel box, told me that eventually it would need replacing due to oxidation but he recommended waiting as I was not having any trouble. Told me when I would know it was time to call them back. Cleaned up all the mess , wrote up the ticket and received payment. I will definitely use them again and recommend them to anyone that needs electrical work done!

I was very pleased! Jeff was courteous, prompt, and efficient. His prices were fair. He saved me money by showing me how to fix a problem that may recur in the future. He also put in new light bulbs in my bathroom when I didn't ask him, too. ( I should say that I am too old to be climbing around installing light bulbs!)  I would hire Jeff again, and I would recommend him to anyone who needs a reliable electrician.

Called around to all the electricians in my area. Alexander was 3rd. I described the problem of my light flickering then popping and finally began to smoke. He advised me that it sounded like a bad unit. He told me it would be at least a day before they could make it out. I expressed my concerns. Mr Alexander told me to call around and if I couldn't find an electrician that could come immediately to call him back. After calling any and all the electricians I could find I told him that I was unsuccessful and he promised to squeeze me in. He came around mid to late afternoon. He inspected the wires and hung my new fan. Through the job he answered all my questions. He was extremely professional. He did a great job and I would call him with any future needs.

Jeff replaced a broken light switch, replaced a bad GFI outlet, addressed a bad wiring issue in a light fixture and made suggestions on how to replace a light fixture(s) in our living room which we aren't currently happy with.  All in under an hour... very pleased.

The installation took abit longer then expected but it was well worth it. They showed up on time and were very polite. I had utilized their service before and was very pleased. The tech was knowledgeable of what he was doing. Took the time to get it right and explained in great detail what needed to be done and broke down the specifics. He didnt began working until we agreed on price and time frame. If there was a problem he explained it to me. I was impress and will definitely be using their services again.

It went really good. He was very professional, put things back where they were and fixed the problem. As my house is older we discussed what needed to be done over time and what the issues looked like. The outlets not only look great but they are up to date.

He sent out unqualified workers that took to long on the project and as a result he started loosing money and in order to save the job he started using inferior materials to save cost. There was stolen materials and damage done to our property that he promised to pay for and when we were down to the final weeks before move in he left for a two week vacation and caused us to lease an apartment for another month. Finally he never returned to finish the project and he did not pay for the damages, he told us that he had lost too much money. When the Electrical inspector came out he cited us for 23 electrical violations and told us that he was going to contact the electrical inspector in his area to relate to him what a poor job they did on this project. As respects to the contractor’s response the lies continue. The project was plagued with coordination issues primarily because of the electrician, because of his poor performance the scheduling of all the other contractors had to be delayed and while not finished the owner announced he was taking a two week vacation and he sent no workers for that time period, there were multiple contractors that were very upset. The contractor admits that there were violations what he does not tell you is that we had to hire a new electrical contractor to fix the problems that he would not. The contractor admits to tearing up the yard and tries to dodge responsibility by suggesting a rope or caution tape. We never thought that his employees would drive on our neighbors property and drive through the tree line to gain access to his trash pile on top of that he refused to pay for the damage. We are currently still dealing with electrical problems almost 4 years later all traceable to poor workmanship by the electrical contractor. Angie's list has recently expanded into our area and we thought our post might save someone else from the anxiety that comes from hiring this contractor. We are making arrangement to post some pictures to establish the facts.
Response from Alexander Electrical Solutions Inc
"March 11, 2010 This response is backed with facts and evidence. Customer was not a licensed general contractor. This customer did assume the role of general contractor. This project was plagued with coordinating problems from start to finish. There were multiple contractors involved in this project. There were multiple conflicts with multiple contractors during this project. Customer is not in position to report profits or losses on our behalf. There was no mention of anything stolen until this internet assault. There was a bathroom light dropped and broken during installation. Customer received an apology and compensation for the broken light. ($107.00) The new light was installed. No owner or employee with this company has ever taken a two week vacation. There were NO “inferior” materials used on this or any other project. We only use grade A materials. The quality of workmanship or material of this project was never compromised. The electrical inspector cited eleven, not twenty three violations on 5-3-2007. These items were minor and were corrected. As of March 11, 2010, the Monroe County Inspections Department has made no calls referring to poor job performance as customer has stated. Nor do they have reason to. The initial price was to include general lighting for the UNFINISHED BASEMENT. The customer decided after the project started to complete the unfinished basement for his parents. This is where the conflict came about, and the price increased. The customer ADDED the following: 2 bedrooms, complete with their own bathrooms, 1 full kitchen, 1 dining room, 1 exercise room, 1bathroom, 1 billiard room, ceiling fans for the basement porch, 1 wet bar and a switched circuit for the wine storage. These added areas were completed with elaborate lighting. This work involved a price increase. As to the final grade tore up, we had an employee drive a truck to the back of the property to pick up the trash. Yes, the truck got stuck. Yes, we had to get it pulled out. Yes, it left ruts and had to be leveled back out. Yes, it rained the day before. This could have been avoided by not driving in the back after the rain. This could have also been avoided by the general contractor/ customer roping off the area with caution tape. We have been a member of the Better Business Bureau since 2004. The B.B.B. has a conflict resolution program that is designed to head off problems such as this, for the customers. Angies List was founded in 1995. This project ended around June of 2007. The customers post appears to be created on February25, 2010. We do not feel this comment was posted in good faith to inform consumers. This customer has posted without fact or evidence to support his claims."
