Howard Tennyson inspected 3 duplex buildings in varying states of disrepair. Thanks to his inspection extensive termite damage was discovered in one and I avoided getting into what would be a very costly repair. His detailed reports also helped me get a good estimate of the repair costs for the other buildings.

Arrived early. He did a through inspection and gave me a detailed explanation before leaving. The report included pictures of all findings and was very informative.

The appointment was set for 2pm and Howard the inspector showed up a half hour early and started immediately to inspect some of the outside of the house bacause the realtor had not showed up yet to give acess to the place.
Howard greeted me and maintained a high level of professionalism during the whole event, but he was candid and called things as he saw them. He has a high level of knowledge and an even higher level of attention to detail. He pointed out many small defects that a home buyer may not want to hear but should. I am convinced that there will not be many surprises for me shortly after I move into my new home.
During the inspection it became clear that ACE uses state of the art technology to further the efffectiveness of the inspection. Various technologiies such as moisture and temperature detectors where utilized to help see what was going on beneath the surface of the walls of the house. But this information is valuable to me at this stage of my game.
The report that was given at the end was delivered in both a brief verbal account of the major issues and a professionally designed report was made and emailed to me. The report documented in photograph and in measured details the iissues that were discoverd during the inspection. This report should serve me well when I am forming a  checklist of things to address in the furture; I now have a good idea of some of the immiediate expenses that I will need to budget for in the near future.

Howard Tennyson (inspector) is a true professional.  He showed up early for the appt. and was very detailed in his report/inspection.  He spent plenty of time on every aspect of the home, and was very flexible with issues we had getting all the services on to the home.  We weren't able to get the gas on (for the gas stove) the day of the inspection, and he did come back out to finish that part of the inspection at no extra charge.  He not only identified alot of little things that we'd eventually have to get repaired, but a possible termite problem (which we were able to get the bank (seller) to pay for treatment for).  We also paid for a pool inspection, but the bank had specific instructions to not turn on the pump (on a sign posted by the pump), and so Ace Home Inspection issued us a refund for that. 
I chose Ace Home Inspection because they were the only ASHI certified inspector in the area, and am glad i did. 
I really felt like the inspector was looking out for my best interest, and wasn't just trying to make the lender/agents happy by looking over possible issues.
