Goodyear Tree & Stump Service Inc
About us
Most people who have never had a very large tree removed professionally will often ask us, “How do you do it?” So, we decided to take some pictures of the process from start to finish. This tree, although very large and in a tight spot, took us one day to complete. Please keep in mind that we do jobs of all of sizes - not just the big ones. Every customer is important to us.

These people come prepared and ready to do the job. They bring all the equipment they need. I will recommend this provider today and everyday. Mr. Pearson is honest and good for his word. Trust me, you will be glad you called Goodyear.
Notes about the price and work performed:
. I only paid to have the trees cut down. The price didn't include trimming off the branches or completely removing the trees.
. However, at no additional cost, the foreman, Steve, offered to cut off the branches and dispose of them for me.
. The price paid was very low; I think that the owner, Russell, gave me a sizable discount because I was able to fit into the company's work schedule (we've had a lot of storm damage in this area) and because they've provided all my tree removal service during the last 20 years.
. As usual, company employees cleaned up the mess caused by the work.
We've used Goodyear before, so it was worth waiting for an opening in their schedule. The team is competent and careful, and our yard is always clean of debris when they are finished. The yard looks fantastic, and the place where the tree was removed looks like it was never there.
This was one of the best work crews I've ever seen on a jobsite. The six men who performed the job worked like ONE finely tuned machine. We were VERY impressed with their work and attitudes. What really spoke volumes is that the owner, Russell, was able to leave our job site and go on to different things--which tells me he knew he had a good crew working for him.
Most of the trees we had removed were adjacent to trees we didn't want damaged. We only lost four limbs (none bad enough to cause permanent damage to remaining trees or to make them look bad) out of the 20 trees removed.
They used a crane truck to removed one of the large oaks that would have damaged lawn and sidewalk had it been felled. They put over a dozen sheets of plywood on the sidewalk and lawn to protect it prior to starting work. That was great fun to watch in action. A precision tree ballet.
We especially enjoyed watching "Possum" at work. He's the tree man and scampers up in those high branches like spiderman. He was able to limb the trees and fell them with excellent precision.
One more thing that really impressed us was how well the crew took care of their tools and machinery as they went, and how well they kept the yard cleaned as they moved through the job. We asked to have quite a few of the oaks left behind and cut into 18" logs for us to split for firewood. They piled the logs where we asked. We also asked to have all the mulch remain onsite and they spread that in the general area we worked in.
The guys did an overall good job (it only took two hours) with removing the trees although one of the trees caught and tore a branch on one of the live trees. I saw them trying to pull it down with the Bobcat, which I didn't realize was unsuccessful until I inspected the work. In other words, they left the branch hanging on the tree. Part of what we agreed to as well was the removal of various dead wood on the propery which they left.
While walking the property to inspect the job with Russell, he had the crew come back and remove the dead wood. They didn't climb the tree to remove the branch because a large poisonous vine has grown up the tree and was covering the lower branches. After Russell stated that the branch needed to be removed, they removed part of the vine, climbed the tree and removed the branch. The only problem is that they cut the base of the vine so that it would die off and left a lot of it in the tree so I now have a large portion of dead poisonous vine left in the tree. Also, they moved the trailer for the Bobcat, so after putting it back on the trailer, two large oil stains as well as countless drops of oil were left on the pavement. I spoke to Russell twice about cleaning the stains and contacted the office by email. The stains weren't cleaned, so I got out tonight and did it.
