Ridings Paint

We have had the Ridings Painting Company paint interior and exterior a number of times over the past 9 years. I have referred him to many friends and clients. In most cases reviews have been excellent.

They painted our house's exterior, as agreed. They were supposed to come back and re-do the front door, since it looked bad. Less than 2 years later, the trim began to peel on the windows and soffits. Then the door frames and column paint started peeling. Tim said he'd fix it. The paint manufacturer came over to view the job and thought he would fix it. Tim called one day, 2 years ago, and said he could come by that Saturday to fix the job. I had out of town visitors that day and was unavailable. He never tried another date, even though I've called him dozens of times. He still has at least 2 gallons of paint (he lost at least one, as well) that I paid for, so that he could fix the job. He now claims that I had him use a Zinser primer, which I did not. I actually have ALL my receipts for paint, and i never bought exterior primer. He and his guys just dropped by one afternoon and used some primer they had, since there was so little bare wood. the "problem areas" that are peeling were pre-primed and existing trim. The existing trim was supposed to be prepped for painting, as per our agreement. The house next to us was painted 6 months before ours. It looks pristine. Ours looks 20 years old.
