Lang Restoration & Construction

Have you seen the movie The Money Pit? This has been my process dealing with Lang Construction. They did my home half a$$. My home is incomplete in several areas. They took the cheap way out on everything (what I feel was to just check a box on their end). My AC is having issues and they sent out the same person whom has admitted that he is doing just a "patch job". I have a hole that remains in my roof. My fireplace is not working. My microwave is not working. My kitchen faucet has an internal leak. My closet is not built out. They used a matte paint all through my home (should be semi-gloss in the kitchen and bathrooms at least). This is just a few of the continued issues I am having. The office "acts" like they care about my concerns, they send folks out who are assigned one thing... so projects still linger. Then, the office avoids my calls and does not follow through with my project completions. I highly advise anyone that reads this to NOT use Lang Construction! I will be leaving this review on as many platforms that I can reach. I have been patient with them and getting nowhere with results... I would hate to see anyone else have to go through what I have been going through with this company!

Had a house fire in 2019 - insurance paid - and everything was going fine until this year. BUT Since the new crew/ new employees took over, I only have one problem after the other. Waiting now 6 month to replace the cracked tile floor in the kitchen, waiting over a month to fix the master bed room bath shower and a two year old HAVC unit needed 3 to 4 repairs. One accusation after another just so Lang does not have to fix the problem. Every problem I was told I damaged it.... I had to show proof I had tile floor in the kitchen before the house fire, was accused of dropping something heavy in the shower and that is why it broke, and was told the AC unit is dirty and that why it is not working AGAIN..... good thing I had proof of nothing was/is true.

I never review service or companies, but Lang will get a bad review from me on every site I can post. They were so subpar and frustrating to work with from the start. Not only have we been dealing with them for over a year, but they have to continually come back to “fix” whatever new thing we find that wasn’t fixed the correct way the first time. The crews they hired did subpar work, unprofessional, and never on time. The small things that may not matter to you if it’s not your home will forever make me regret hiring them. One of their project managers said “we don’t want you to look around your house and hate us” and that is literally all I do. I can look at 3 things in this one room I am sitting in that aren’t done right and that’s just one room. At this point we have essentially given up on them as all they do is say sorry to placate us and we honestly don’t want them to keep bringing back their random crews to fix something else. The only positive is that initially for the restoration the people with fans and all were fast and kind.

I hired Lang through my insurance company, to replace my roof. Communication with the project manager was frustrating and difficult, and the team left trash in my yard. When I found out later that they punctured a hole in the hvac freon line with a roofing nail, they refused to take responsibility for the damage done to my hvac system. Find a better company - certainly anyone is better.

Following the storm damage suffered by our dear neighbor, whose house was hit by a split tree, my partner and I were anxious to help. We knew a crew would be coming to address the damage, but we didn't expect that such "restoration" of our neighbor's property would mean destruction of our own. Without making any effort to obtain permission, Lang employees drove a small front-loader into our side and back yard, creating deep, mud-rutted tracks, and then wrapped one of our trees with some type of cable, connecting it to the fallen tree they were trying to remove. (For my partner, a rape survivor with PTSD, it isn't just startling to find three strange men outside our back door; it is traumatic.) Shocked and panicked, my partner went out to express her concern to the three workers in our back yard, saying that the tree they had wrapped was unstable (according to an expert we had previously consulted). The only worker who looked at her didn't seem to understand what she was saying. She went out a second time and received an apology from another worker for not seeking permission and reassurance that they would be done in a minute. A weak, dismissive apology is not enough. The behavior of Lang's employees wasn't an innocent error or the result of a misunderstanding; it was an act of blatant disregard. And that is unacceptable.

This was the absolute WORST experience I have ever had with any contractor, remodeler, water remediation company, etc. as a rule. I never leave bad reviews but I just cannot see this company on Angie's List without sharing my experience, it was so awful and I would want to prevent others from experiencing the same frustrating and unacceptable experience that we endured. Their work was subpar and unacceptable. Their painters flushed rags down my toilet and caused a second flood. I wasn't able to get Lang to appropriately make good on this. There remains dry wall and wood flooring (both were new when this happened) that was soaked by brown water from this plumber "error" and that wasn't replaced, which is unacceptable. They scratched my wood floors after installing them and didn't compensate me for it or fix it. They dry walled my kitchen BEFORE fixing the plumbing issues, resulting in both further delay, wasted materials and MORE COST TO ME. the project manager refused to deal with us, was incompetent and was an arrogant jerk. The VP of the company made offensive remarks about me to my husband. Their four week job took six months and the cost overage was more than double the estimated cost, the scope of the work never changed. The owner of Lang threatened to put a construction lien on my home BEFORE he gave me an invoice. I paid their invoice immediately in order to get them out of my life. Can you believe they threatened to put a lien on my home BEFORE giving me an invoice, how can I pay an invoice when I don't know how much it is? Do not use these people if you want to maintain your sanity. They are horrible people, they are unprofessional, they are incompetent and they will damage your home and not pay for their damage. Working with Lang was purely a disaster.

They had to put up structural beams, gutters, drywall, and replace the entire roof, including rafters. They worked with the estimators and state farm and supplied all necessary paperwork, obtained building permits and consulted with the county building inspectors. We were very happy with their work. The timeliness, quality of workmanship, work in progress/ clean up, and entire experience was very professional. We would definitely recommend their services to others.

The technicians called and set up an appointment and arrived in time and did a great job. They also explained everything as they worked.
